The results during The Voice season 11 semifinals were brutal, as half of the competition was eliminated, bringing the total number of finalists down to just the final four who will compete in the finale.
BuddyTV took part in a conference call with the four who were sent home -- Aaron Gibson, Ali Caldwell, Brendan Fletcher and Christian Cuevas. They shared their thoughts on landing in the Instant Save round, Miley Cyrus' influence on the song choices and results, and more. Also, who does Aaron Gibson think will win? Read on to find out.

The final four of The Voice season 11 have been decided. The result is wildly disappointing. In most cases America got it right with their votes for who should move through to the finale night. The top three chosen by America's votes -- Sundance, Billy and We -- were predictable and deserving choices. Things got messy with the Instant Save (as always) on the semifinals eliminations.
Ali Caldwell certainly didn't deserve to go home, and for that matter, neither did Christian Cuevas -- especially when thinking about who actually made it through at the end. The bottom line is America just made the wrong choice when choosing Josh Gallagher to move into the finale. ...

And interestingly enough, there’s a foursome of vocalists who managed to crack the Top 10 of the iTunes singles chart by the close of voting time — qualifying them for the coveted 5x sales vote multiplier that will give them an edge over their rivals.

Did NBC just use The Voice Top 10 results night to aggressively cross-promote upcoming premieres of Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love and Hollywood Game Night?
Yeah, sure, but who cares? We got not one but two performances from living legend Dolly Parton, a mildly amusing bit of filler in which Jane Lynch got Blake Shelton and Miley Cyrus to sing into a fun-house microphone and an appearance by Pentatonix that makes me wonder if the Peacock Net might be considering a relaunch/reboot/revival of The Sing-Off. (I mean, they brought back Heroes for a minute, so anything’s possible.

Miley Cyrus had a solid but rather unremarkable team before the Live Playoffs on The Voice. After the first live show and the loss of members like Belle Jewel and Sophia Urista, though, Team Miley looked to be in even more dire straits. Yet at the Top 12, Ali Caldwell took the stage in the penultimate spot and delivered a powerhouse performance. With just one song, Ali Caldwell went from being the middle of the pack to the top of the (metaphorical) leaderboard. Team Miley might just win The Voice with Ali Caldwell on the team.
