"He's going to hurt her, and I will have to kill him." The realest line in this. Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a romantic comedy called A Family Affair, the latest movie directed by Richard Lagravenese. This seems like another "we have to do this too" version of the exact same story from Prime Video's The Idea of You. They're almost the same plot, except in this one the guy is a movie star, not a pop star, who falls for the "older woman." A surprising romance kicks off comic consequences for a young woman, her mother, and her movie star boss Chris Cole, as they face the complications of love, sex, and identity. Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron star in this romcom, along with Joey King, Liza Koshy, Sherry Cola, and Kathy Bates. Well this looks pretty awful, not a single funny line in here and everything else is super cringe.

A member of the Critics Choice Association has resigned after more than a decade with the group, citing what he believes is a “transactional” process behind the Cca’s forthcoming inaugural Celebration of LGBTQ+ Cinema & Television.
John Griffiths, who was the longtime television critic for Us Weekly and has more recently written for the TV Academy’s Emmy magazine and AARP magazine, sent a note of resignation Sunday to the organization behind the Critics Choice Awards. The note, which has been obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, alleges that the group has a policy of expecting honorees to pay for a table at the ceremony.
“Despite my commitment to advancing queer and trans-centric representation, I have become deeply disheartened by the selection process for this event’s honorees,” Griffiths wrote. “Simply put, I believe many people expect that members of the Critics Choice Association are the ones who select the awardees for this celebration; instead,...

The year 2023 was an embarrassment of riches when it came to animation. Movies like “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” became massive commercial successes and crossed the billion-dollar mark at the box office, while movies like “Nimona” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” hit big with audiences and critics. There were films that boasted wildly different aesthetics and showed the power of the animation medium, like “Blue Giant” and “The First Slam Dunk.” We also saw the return of legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki, who gave us his most personal film to date with “The Boy and the Heron.”
That’s a lot for 2024 to live up to — luckily, it seems the year will bring with it a healthy mix of big studio franchises and more grown-up animated fare. There are still big and highly anticipated animated movies slated to be released in 2024. Here is a rundown of 2024 animated releases with updates to come.

‘Good Trouble’ Co-Creator Breaks Down the Series’ Emotional Farewell
Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers from “What Now?,” the series finale of “Good Trouble,” now streaming on Hulu.
“Good Trouble,” which aired its series finale on Freeform Tuesday, has been a flagship show for the channel’s Gen-z and liberal-leaning audience since it premiered in 2018. The drama was a spinoff from “The Fosters,” a groundbreaking, foundational show for ABC Family, Freeform’s previous name before it rebranded with a heavier focus on programming for politically active 20somethings. “Good Trouble” centered on “The Fosters” characters Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) as they moved into a communal loft space called The Coterie in downtown Los Angeles, and began their post-grad adult lives.

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from the series finale of Freeform’s Good Trouble.
Good Trouble has officially taken its final bow.
The Freeform series ended Tuesday night after five seasons, concluding more than a decade of television telling the stories of the Adams-Foster family and those closest to them. In some ways, Good Trouble ended exactly how it began — with Callie and Mariana.
Maia Mitchell rejoined Cierra Ramirez one last time for the finale, in which the residents of The Coterie find out the building is being sold and they’ll all need to move out. As they gather for a final Coterie dinner and rooftop hang, everyone reminisces on all they’ve gone through together. Callie and Mariana certainly have more than their fair share of trials, tribulations, and celebrations to reflect on.
“They’ve been working together for over 10 years, since they were 17 and 19,” showrunner and...

What a difference a couple of years makes.
At one point, Freeform was the go-to destination for younger viewers, with shows like Pretty Little Liars giving the bigger networks a run for their money in key demographics.
These days, it seems the network is more interested in experimenting with cost-effective programming, and sadly, the shows that have been so successful up to now will be a distant memory.

Over the weekend, official word broke that Cruel Summer and Good Trouble -- the network's last two scripted offerings -- would not be returning for additional seasons.
