Hope Lopez is a multidisciplinary filmmaker and Chicana activist born and raised in Southern California. She is a showrunner, director, writer, producer, actor, editor, and musician with the intention of bringing accurate representation to marginalized communities through complex and intersectional characters.
After three years, Hope matriculated from California State University Long Beach with a B.A. in Screenwriting and a minor in Production Management. In addition, she completed her M.F.A. in Screenwriting at California State University Fullerton.
With three development internships under her belt, Hope branches out into the podcast arena with Let's Get Creative (2022-present) which focuses on bringing underrepresented voices to the forefront. Furthermore, she created the organization Latinas in Film which provides a safe space for Latina filmmakers to create, connect, and flourish.
Regarding her work, Hope created a self-portrait called Are You a Revolutionary? (2021) and wrote a short film called A Rose's Thorn (2022). In addition, she co-wrote/produced/acted in a short film, SuperNed (2023). For her latest project, Hope serves as a Showrunner/Executive Producer of the highly anticipated comedy show Funny's Not Dead! (2022-present).
