The Akatsuki is one of the most brutal factions in anime history. They were formed with the idea of capturing all the tailed beasts and summoning the Ten-Tails. Being the Nine-Tails fox’s jinchuriki, Naruto Uzumaki also had to stay alert. The Akatsuki recruited shinobi with unique abilities and divided them into groups of two, which helped them catch their prey.
One of the members of the evil faction was Hidan. Hidan was partnered up with the oldest member, Kakuzu. Hidan had one of the most deadly abilities and used it to kill Asuma Sarutobi. But one of the Naruto fan theories suggests that the overpowered ability proved to be the reason for his demise. Shikamaru Nara had an advantage after Hidan used his Jashin ability against him in Naruto Shippuden.

“Today’s my husband and I’s fourth wedding anniversary, so I decided to wake up super early and make him bagels and cream cheese from scratch,” Nara Smith narrates in a recent TikTok video. The model is dressed in a sweeping black peignoir set, her hair perfectly slicked back, her cheekbones flawlessly contoured, her voice as smooth and unctuous as the olive oil she pours into her mixing bowl. She is also eight months pregnant.

Paris-based sales agent The Party Film Sales has acquired world rights for “Heartless” (Sem Coração), which has its world premiere in the Horizons section of the Venice Film Festival.
The feature, directed by Brazilian duo Nara Normande and Tião, is based on their short of the same name, which received the Illy Prize for Best Short at Directors’ Fortnight during the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.
The film is set in the summer of 1996 on the north-east coast of Brazil, where Tamara (played by Maya de Vicq) is enjoying her last weeks in the fishing village she lives in before leaving for Brasilia for her studies. One day, she hears about a teenager nicknamed Heartless (played by Eduarda Samara), after a scar she has on her chest. Over the course of the summer, Tamara feels a growing attraction for this mysterious girl.

Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft’s subscription service for Xbox One owners. It’s designed to be like a “Netflix for games,” where you pay a simple monthly rate and get access to loads of games for download. It’s not to be confused with the Xbox Live Gold membership, which gives users a selection of free games each month.
There has been a huge surge in popularity and profile for Xbox Game Pass since its launch, mainly due to the diverse list of games and first-party exclusives on the service. In fact, Microsoft drops new releases from its own internal studios onto the service on day one! That means Xbox gamers can expect to get immediate access to everything released by Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda with a subscription to the service. And now you even get access to titles on EA Play, the third-party publisher’s own on-demand service.

Film CommentaryThe names of the characters in the movie represent a trend that is followed by marginalised sections defying the caste hegemony enforced upon them even in naming themselves.Sipoy SarveswarWhen I joined the Master’s programme at the University of Hyderabad, it provided me an opportunity to meet people from various parts of our country. As a student of anthropology, I was intrigued to see how socio-cultural reasons of that particular time and space play an imperative role in naming people. The theories of Culture Personality (propounded by Margaret Mead and Ruth Benedict) and Symbolic and Interpretive Anthropology (pioneered by Victor Turner and Clifford Geertz) offer us greater insights to understand why and how a certain pattern of naming can be observed in certain sections of Indian society. Culture Personality theory tries to understand the relationship between the culture of a society and the personality of the individuals in that culture.

Following the critical and commercial success of the first May the Devil Take You, director Timo Tjahjanto brings several costars back this go-round for a second thrilling chapter in the series of Alfie confronting terrifying ghostly beings. Despite a few minor miscalculations from time-to-time, this is a spectacular and rewarding sequel now available to stream on Shudder.
Believing she has survived the ordeal, Alfie (Chelsea Islan) and Nara (Hadijah Shahab) try to get by with their lives only to be suddenly attacked and kidnapped by a group of intruders one evening. Revealing themselves as Budi, (Baskara Mahendra) Marta, (Karina Salim), Leo (Arya Vasco), Gadis (Widika Sidmore) and Kristi (Lutesha) who under the guise of Jenar (Shareefa Daanish) bring her back to the orphanage in order to help them deal with a spirit haunting the group. Realizing the spirit they’ve encounter is similar in appearance and intensity...

Earlier this month, the 2020 Nightstream Film Festival offered up genre fans a ton of amazing online offerings to enjoy throughout its four-day festivities. Here’s a look at two of the films I had the opportunity to watch during Nightstream: May the Devil Take You Too from Timo Tjahjanto (which hits Shudder soon) and Jesse Blanchard’s puppet splatterfest, Frank & Zed.
May the Devil Take You Too: Two years ago, Timo Tjahjanto unleashed May the Devil Take You, his demonic thrill ride pitting a young woman named Alfie (Chelsea Islan) and her step-family against sinister forces that want nothing more than to claim their souls. Now, Tjahjanto is back with his follow-up effort, May the Devil Take You Too, which feels slightly more ambitious and polished than its predecessor, and once again evokes a Raimi-esque sense of banana pants filmmaking that delivers up a ton of devilishly fun gore and violence.

Yo La Tengo have shared a new song, “Bleeding,” which will appear on the group’s upcoming EP, Sleepless Night, out October 9th via Matador Records.
“Bleeding” is an immersive bit of dream pop, with tendrils of guitar lines twisting around each other while Ira Kaplan’s baritone floats above, just louder than a whisper. About halfway through, however, a lone drone begins to swell beneath the serene proceedings, adding an unnerving edge to the song as it drifts toward its conclusion.

There are cinephiles who are transported to aesthetic nirvana by Naomi Kawase’s eco-spiritualism, and there are critics who flee her cinematic ashram. Neither will be wholly satisfied with “True Mothers,” the director’s contemplation of motherhood and adoption, which is her most plot-driven but least visually lustrous film yet. Like most of her previous features, this one also made Cannes’ official selection, only this one had to wait till Toronto to premiere after Covid struck. Resembling the relationship-based “Red Bean,” this dip into less mystical waters may give the film wider reach beyond French devotees to non-art-house fans of melodrama, especially in Asia.
Kawase’s father walked out at her tender age, letting her grandmother shoulder much of her upbringing. The wounds of abandonment are lyrically evoked in her debut “Suzaku,” as well as in “Shara” and “Still the Water,” while her enduring absorption with birth and her self-perception...

The race to next-gen is finally beginning to heat up.
Despite Covid-19 causing total havoc on global commerce, both Sony and Microsoft remain confident – supply shortages are, however, very possible – in their ability to deliver ninth-generation hardware in the form of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, respectively. The latter was first to show its hand at last year’s Game Awards, of course, though gamers have come to learn more about both over the last few months or so.
As of writing, the public has yet to behold Sony’s console in all its glory, though based on the recent unveiling of DualShock 4’s successor DualSense, we could well be seeing the Japanese electronics giant finally ditch the black color scheme for a pearly white aesthetic instead. There’s more still to come on that front, then, though in the meantime, more third-party developers have come forward to confirm their contributions to next-gen.
