We told you earlier this year about Stiletto, an upcoming horror movie from director Samuel Gonzalez Jr. (The Retaliators) that’s being described as a throwback to the early slashers of the 1980s. We now have an exclusive first look at the film’s villain, “The Stiletto Killer.”
The killer’s mask was created by Jason Baker, famous for designing the mask that Ethan Hawke wore in The Black Phone, and owner of Callosum FX Studios, which is the creative brainchild of legendary special effects master Tom Savini and renowned artist and effects creator Jason Baker himself.
Baker tells Bloody Disgusting in a statement, “Creating the killer’s mask for Samuel Gonzalez Jr. & Gigi Gustin on Stiletto was an absolute blast. I personally drew so much inspiration from the script. The film is a morbidly beautiful mixture of beauty and carnage. And that was the mindset we used in the design.

We told you earlier this week about Stiletto, an upcoming horror movie from director Samuel Gonzalez Jr. (The Retaliators) that’s being described as a throwback to the early slashers of the 1980s. Bloody Disgusting has now exclusively learned that makeup effects legend Tom Savini and his creative partner Jason Baker designed the killer’s mask for the film!
The duo most recently designed the mask for Ethan Hawke’s sinister “The Grabber” in box office hit The Black Phone, which is getting a sequel from Blumhouse in Summer 2025.
Something elegant and terrifying at the same time.

Evil Dead Rise (read our review right Here) will be introducing fans of the Evil Dead franchise to sisters Beth and Ellie, played by Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland, when the film reaches theatres on April 21st. In the build-up to the release of the film, Sutherland has taken to social media to share an image of her and Sullivan hanging out with another Evil Dead franchise heroine: Jane Levy from Evil Dead 2013.
It should be noted that Levy does not appear in Evil Dead Rise, this is just a fun picture of the stars of different entries in a franchise hanging out together:

"An absolute crowd pleaser." Warner Bros has launched a "Final Review Trailer" for Evil Dead Rise, the fifth movie in the Evil Dead franchise started by horror maestro Sam Raimi. This is a follow-up to the most recent reinvention of the horror franchise, Evil Dead from 2013. The horror film follows two sisters trying to survive and save their family from demonic creatures known as Deadites. A twisted tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable. It stars Alyssa Sutherland as Ellie, with Lily Sullivan, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher, and Mia Challis. The film just premiered at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival recently, which is where all of these quotes are coming from. Damn this looks so gnarly and gross and totally messed up!

Bruce Campbell has formally retired from the role Evil Dead franchise hero Ash, a character played in three films and three seasons of television over the course of forty years. So while franchise creator Sam Raimi still hopes to make another Evil Dead movie with Campbell, and while they’re pursuing the idea of continuing the Ash vs. Evil Dead TV show as an animated series (since Campbell is still willing to provide the voice of Ash), Ash is not a character in the upcoming film Evil Dead Rise, which is scheduled to reach theatres on April 21st… But writer/director Lee Cronin has revealed that there is some Bruce Campbell hidden somewhere in the movie.

In the time since, director Lee Cronin has been hammering away at crafting the blood-soaked family affair previewed in the gruesome red-band trailer for Evil Dead Rise, the follow-up to 2013’s Evil Dead film.
In theaters on April 21, Evil Dead Rise takes both sisterhood and motherhood to new extremes. When flesh-consuming demons take over Ellie’s (Alyssa Sutherland) apartment building, she and her three children hit the road, hoping...

"You don't look so good, Mom." "Nothing a big old kiss from you won't fix." Warner Bros has unveiled the first official trailer for Evil Dead Rise, the fifth movie in the Evil Dead franchise started by horror maestro Sam Raimi. This is a follow-up to the most recent reinvention of the horror franchise, Evil Dead from 2013, though it's not really connected - another new story. The film stars Alyssa Sutherland as Ellie, with Lily Sullivan, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher, and Mia Challis. Wow this looks absolutely gnarly and disgusting as hell and wicked crazy!

The “Evil Dead” franchise has risen, and it’s looking positively groovy. The official trailer for “Evil Dead Rise,” the fifth installment in the cult classic horror film franchise launched by Sam Raimi, was released by Warner Bros. on Wednesday.
The film is directed by Lee Cronin, best known for his 2019 horror film “The Hole in the Ground,” and stars Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan as Ellie and Beth, two sisters who reunite after years apart when Beth visits Ellie and her three children in Los Angeles. While exploring Ellie’s apartment building, the women discover the Naturom Demonto, or the “Book of the Dead” from the other films, which summons demons known as Deadites to Earth when passages are read. This being an “Evil Dead” film, Ellie and Beth, of course, read from the book, and the Deadites rise. When one of them possesses Ellie, Beth ends up in...

In the official trailer for “Evil Dead Rise,” the next film in the long-running horror franchise started by director Sam Raimi, two sisters named Beth and Ellie seek to protect their family when hordes of Deadites flock Ellie’s apartment building.
Alyssa Sutherland plays older sister Ellie, who raises three children on her own in a cramped Los Angeles apartment, and Lily Sullivan plays Beth, who takes a road trip to reunite with her sister. The visit is interrupted by the discovery of a mysterious book that summons the Deadites, forcing the two to defend themselves and the children.
Unlike the original “Evil Dead” movies, this follow-up does not include Bruce Campbell’s horror icon Ash Williams. However, Campbell executive produces alongside Raimi and Robert G. Tapert.
Lee Cronin wrote the “Evil Dead Rise” screenplay and directs, coming off the critical success of his 2019 directorial debut “The Hole in the Ground.

Happy New Year, everyone! How does our first official teaser for the highly-anticipated "Evil Dead Rise" sound to kick off 2023? We certainly hope you're ready because Warner Bros. has announced that the first full-length trailer for the film will be released tomorrow via its first-look footage. In this new teaser, we see a young girl (Nell Fisher) looking through an apartment door peephole, saying that her mother Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland) doesn't look good. Truth be told, she doesn't –- as we saw previously in a still released on Halloween, she looks to be fully and bloodily possessed by the spirits of the Necronomicon.
If this 20-second teaser was enough to get us spooked, then we can't wait to see what kind of twisted stuff the full trailer will have. We especially can't wait to see this trailer play on a big screen –- "Evil Dead Rise" was intended to be an HBO Max original film,...

Someone must have unwisely read from the Necronomicon because the deadites are back to cause bloody mayhem with the upcoming "Evil Dead Rise" next year. It will have been just about a decade since the last time a new "Evil Dead" movie was shown on the big screen, with Fede Alvarez's 2013 ultra-gory ode to Sam Raimi's indie horror sensation. As the video game continues to be going strong, and another movie is on the way, it's a pretty great time to be an "Evil Dead" fan.
The sheer influence that Raimi's 1981 horror film had on the genre is far and wide. "The Evil Dead" will always be the signature template of the "teenagers stay in a creepy cabin in the middle of the woods" flick, with "Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn" being one of the greatest horror comedies ever made. Although "Army of Darkness" leaned more into its fantasy sensibilities,...
