The Voice on Monday began the ending of a season of firsts: its first with a Final Five instead of a Final Four; its first with pandemic-necessitated remote performances; its first with a swivel chair for Nick Jonas (and his oh-so-helpful Nick’s Notes); its first, at least that I can remember, with Kelly Clarkson Wine Goblets; its first with the coaches making one boneheaded move (John Legend dropping Thunderstorm Artis from his team) after another (Cedrice and not Tayler Green being stolen during the Knockouts)…
Hey, wait. We always get at least a few face-palm-inducing decisions from the coaches,...

To a degree, there is just no predicting The Voice. Before Season 18’s Knockouts, would you have said that there was a snowball’s chance in hell that John Legend would dump frontrunner Thunderstorm Artis in favor of Mandi Castillo? Or that Kelly Clarkson would allow promising Tayler Green to be eliminated so that she could keep the significantly less promising Micah Iverson?
Ok, maybe you would’ve; we are used to the occasional boneheaded move by the coaches. Anyway, whether there is or isn’t a reliable formula for predicting the outcome of the NBC sing-off, TVLine has decided...

As the last of the The Voice’s Top 28 of Season 18 performed Monday, the episode was suspenseful for a reason besides the usual “Will my favorite contestant advance?”: Following next week’s “Road to the Live Shows” special, the sing-off would indeed be going live for the Playoffs on May 4. When coach Blake Shelton stopped by The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he said that the producers have a plan to work remotely, but whatever, specifically it is, “it’s gonna be nuts.”
Which, in a weird way, sounds like fun, no? Personally, I’m just glad we’ll still get,...

It’s the final night for “The Voice” Knockouts of Season 18! Coaches John Legend and Blake Shelton have each used their one and only steal for this round. How will rivals Kelly Clarkson and Nick Jonas deploy their steals Monday night?
In addition to the six regular Knockout pairings, the four saved artist from the previous Battle episodes will compete for one slot in the live shows, which will premiere at an unknown future date due to health concerns. That will give the audience a Top 17 since each coach will carry forward four artists from these two Knockout shows that were already pre-recorded months ago.
The singers competing for this unconventional 17th slot are:
Todd Michael Hall (Team Blake Shelton)
Samantha Howell (Team Kelly Clarkson)
Nelson Cade, III (Team John Legend)
Michael Williams (Team Nick Jonas)

Just one season after winning “The Voice” with country artist Jake Hoot, coach Kelly Clarkson is having a heck of a time convincing any male artists to join her Season 18 team. In fact, after four blind audition episodes Kelly has acquired only eight female artists with two spots still to be filled. (See Kelly’s Season 18 team.) “I have all girls,” Kelly declared about her artists during Monday’s fourth episode. Fellow coaches Blake Shelton, John Legend and Nick Jonas have teams made up of both genders, with John earning his first female artist (Zan Fiskum) this week.
The fact that Kelly is a three-time “Voice” champion makes her difficulties in convincing guys to join her team even more of a head-scratcher. She’s only been a coach on NBC’s reality TV show for four previous cycles, and she prevailed with Brynn Cartelli (Season 14), Chevel Shepherd (Season 15) and Jake...

We’re halfway through “The Voice” Season 18 blind auditions, with each coach coming closer and closer to completing their teams. As of this writing, Blake Shelton has 6 of his 10 artists, while Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Nick Jonas currently have 5 of 10. Yep, you read that right. As Kelly explained during Monday’s episode, this season the coaches’ teams will consist of 10 contestants apiece as opposed to the normal 12. With all four Blocks being utilized already, that means “The Voice” judges will have to rely on their savvy pitches in order to convince the remaining artists to join them.
How many artists does each “The Voice” coach still need to complete their Season 18 teams? We’ll be updating this page after every blind audition episode airs on NBC, so keep checking back.

Early on in Monday’s Season 18 premiere of The Voice, veteran coach Blake Shelton playfully grumbled, “This is gonna be a long season.” And, as bummed as I still was over the outcome of Season 17 — Jake Hoot’s fine, but Katie Kadan and Rose Short were great — I suspected he was right. But doggonit, no sooner had the Blind Auditions gotten underway, with Nick Jonas joining Blake, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend in the iconic swivel chairs, than I was, as always, sucked right back in. It probably didn’t hurt that all eight of the singers advancing to the...
