Back in April 2024, Netflix announced Tom Brady as the upcoming target of the first-ever unedited roast that will be telecast live as part of Netflix Is a Joke Fest. Thereafter, on May 5, the former Patriots quarterback appeared on The Greatest Roast of All Time, where he was roasted by comedians, NFL players, and surprisingly, Ben Affleck as well.
Neflix’s The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady
The Batman actor was rumored to potentially appear on the program with long-time Patriots coach Bill Belichick. Eventually, Ben Affleck made his way into the program to roast his favorite NFL quarterback. Unfortunately, the actor’s humorously balanced performance simply attracted criticism, as Affleck got slammed for his unhinged rant.

Rafael Nadal is one of the sport's comeback kings with a proud reputation for digging deep and always finding solutions on a tennis court.
However, on Friday at the Brisbane International, where he was marking his comeback from a career-threatening hip injury, he was given a taste of his own medicine, and to put it bluntly, the Spaniard certainly did not enjoy it.
Nadal's comeback at this low-key Atp 250 event to kick off the new Atp season had already exceeded expectations with rousing wins over Dominic Thiem and Jason Kubler. He wanted to garnish this fairytale run with a title, but one man did not read the script.
Australia's Jordan Thompson shocked the Spaniard, beating him at his own game in a gripping contest that lasted three hours and 24 minutes. And it had a tangible effect on Nadal's surgically repaired hip, with the Spaniard making the chilling claim that he felt some discomfort.

Holger Rune will contest the 2024 Brisbane International final, but it won't be against Rafael Nadal like he secretly hoped for.
Holger Rune never played against Rafael Nadal, and it's certainly a dream of his to do so one day. There was a decent chance it could have happened this week at the Atp 250 tournament in Brisbane, as Nadal was looking really sharp at the start, and Rune was the top seed.
Ultimately, Rune did his part by getting there, but Nadal was beaten by Jordan Thompson, so unfortunately, the two won't meet in the final of the competition. It will be the Dane against Grigor Dimitrov which is not bad, and it's actually a very solid final match between the two top seeds.
In any case, Rune himself was a bit disappointed that he wouldn't be facing Nadal in the final because he really hoped he would. He confirmed it...

The draw for the 2024 Adelaide International, Atp 250 tournament, was released, and the event will run from January 8th to 13th.
As one of the last two tournaments before the 2024 Australian Open, the tournament in Adelaide offers the last chance to players to get into their peak form for the season's first Grand Slam.
One of the players that will want to do it is last year's semifinalist from Melbourne, Tommy Paul. The American is the top seed in Adelaide, and as the four top seeded players, he has a bye in the first round.
That means, the'll start the tournament in the second round, but he doesn't have much clarity about who will be his first opponent at the event either, as he'll play against one of the qualifiers.
On the opposite side of the draw is Nicolas Jarry, who will clash with Marton Fucsovics or Matteo Arnaldi, and his...

Holger Rune started 2024 on a high note by playing brilliant tennis all week long to make the Brisbane International final against Grigor Dimitrov.
Holger Rune had hoped to face Rafael Nadal in the Brisbane International final, but ultimately, it didn't work out as Nadal failed to make it out of the other side of the draw. Jordan Thompson beat him in the quarter-final, but Grigor Dimitrov will be a worthy replacement.
The Bulgarian is experiencing some of the best days of his career on a tennis court, as he's been pretty solid in the past six months. He's healthy, and when he's healthy, he can play amazing tennis, which is what happened this week at the Atp 250 event.
Head-to-head:
Rune and Dimitrov have played before, and the H2H score is 1-1. They played at Wimbledon last year, and Rune won that match while Dimitrov won the most recent one in Beijing.

Holger Rune is through to his ninth Atp final after beating Roman Safiullin at the 2024 Brisbane International.
It was 14th Tour-level semifinal for the young Dane, and the odds were on his side, as he won 8 of the previous 13 last four matches that he played. On the other hand, it was only fifth semifinal for his opponent, who lost three of the previous four.
However, both had great form, and fans in Brisbane expected a great match, which they got, even though it wasn't a three-set match but another two-set win for the Danish player.
Rune had a dream start into the match, breaking his opponent's serve in the very first game of the opening set, and since then, he never allowed him to think about a comeback in the opener.
The young Dane didn't offer any break points, and he even had a chance to increase his lead to two breaks.

Rafael Nadal has provided further information about his injury setback following elimination at the 2024 Brisbane International.
Nadal had three match points in his quarter-final clash against Jordan Thompson but couldn't take advantage as the clash went to a final set. In the concluding set, the Spanish player needed a medical timeout after he felt pain in his hip - the same area he injured during the Australian Open last year.
Initially, the 22-time Grand Slam winner was cautious about the injury and explained post-match that he was going to take things day by day whilst understanding more about the setback.
However, Nadal has issued more details and said his ultimate aim is to be back to full strength in a few months.
"Yeah, is a very similar place to what happened last year, but different stuff, no? I feel more muscle. Last year was tendon. I feel the muscle tired.

Rafael Nadal's comeback at the 2024 Brisbane International has exceeded expectations, and the Spaniard is delighted with his progress.
Nadal was granted a wild card into the Atp 250 event, which marked precisely a year since he last played on tour. Having required a lengthy but successful hip surgery in order to prolong his career for at least one more season, his return has been a highly satisfying one.
Even though Nadal has dealt with a long list of injuries throughout his playing career, his absence in the past year is the longest layoff of his career, and he even lost his proud record of being ranked in the world's Top 10 for over 900 weeks.
In just his second visit to Brisbane, the 37-year-old has played with newfound confidence and verve and toppled the likes of Dominic Thiem and Jason Kubler to reach the quarterfinal stage, where he lost to Jordan Thompson.

Rafael Nadal's comeback event is over as he was beaten in the quarter-final of the 2024 Brisbane International, which left many quite sad as he was inches away from winning.
Nadal made his comeback to tennis in Brisbane this week, and it was a pretty decent start for the Spaniard as he played three matches and won two. The first one was an impressive showing against Dominic Thiem, which was followed by another solid win.
Beating Jason Kubler as easily as he did certainly created headlines, but things were expected to be a bit harder against Jordan Thompson and they certainly were. He was down a break in the first set but rallied to win it.
The second set offered match points, but he wasted three of them in total to lose it in the tie-break. Ultimately, he ran out of steam in the final set, admitting fatigue after the...

Rafael Nadal experienced a major scare during his Brisbane International match as he felt something in his hip.
The Spaniard missed much of last year due to a hip injury that also happened in Australia, and this was his first Atp event back. It was going really well with two impressive wins, but today's match against Jordan Thompson wasn't that good.
He wasted 3 match points to send the match into a 3rd set and then felt something in his hip calling for a medical timeout. After the match, Nadal admitted that he doesn't know what's going on and he'll see how he'll feel tomorrow after waking up.

Rafael Nadal is not sure he'll play at the 2024 Australian Open after the most recent injury scare at the Brisbane International.
Rafael Nadal returned to tennis at the Atp 250 tournament in Brisbane after missing almost the entire 2023 season. It was a hip injury that forced him to abandon his plans, and he felt the pain again against Jordan Thompson.
It was a competitive match which Nadal could have won, but he wasted three match points. Late in the final set, the Spaniard felt his hip again and called for a medical timeout but finished the match standing.
After the match, Nadal spoke about his experience this week and what the coming weeks might look like in light of this most recent development.

Rafael Nadal faced his strongest opposition yet at the 2024 Brisbane International and handled it well for a while but still lost in three sets.
Jordan Thompson was never going to be an easy out for Nadal because the Australian is just a solid player, and he's playing on home soil. Even so, some might say that he did better than anybody expected him to because, at the opening set's midpoint, he broke first.
The problem for Thompson is that he didn't convert that 4-3 lead into a 5-3 one but rather allowed Nadal to break back. That was costly as it energized Nadal who would go on to outplay his opponent for the rest of the set.
7-5 was the final score of the first set as Nadal totalled a solid 12 winners in it. Thompson actually outhit Nadal with 18 winners, but the legendary player's experience proved vital as he won the crucial rallies.

Rafael Nadal endured a funny situation during his Brisbane International match when he got a time violation after not returning from a toilet break on time.
Nadal is back, and he's playing this week in Brisbane and playing really well. The first match back was a great win, and the second one against Jason Kubler was a pretty great win as well.
He's looking about as good as you can hope for a player who missed basically an entire year of action. Outside of the good tennis shown against Kubler, Nadal also showed his age, kind of.
He took a toilet break in between sets but took a bit longer than allowed which forced the umpire to give him a time violation. After the match, Nadal joked that he's simply too slow.
I think what something is strange because I know I have five minutes. Honestly, Brisbane is very humid...

Rafael Nadal once again proved that his level is more than good, beating Jason Kubler at the 2024 Brisbane International.
When the Spaniard was coming back to the Atp Tour, one thing was clear. As a player who needs more matches to get back into the rhythm, a lot would depend on the draws that he would receive.
As an unseeded player, due to using his protected ranking, Nadal could have been drawn against the top seed, Holger Rune, in Brisbane, and the same can occur at the Australian Open, where he can meet even his main rival, Novak Djokovic.
That would likely result in two losses for not-in-form Nadal, but in the Brisbane International draw, he saw a qualifier next to his name in the first round, which certainly made him happy.
What probably made the 22-time Grand Slam winner less happy, was the fact that he had to take on Dominic Thiem,...

If Rafael Nadal has any intentions of leaving the sport in the near future, then it is fair to say he is using his limited court time to mold his successor.
Nadal's one-year-old son is now part of his courtside team with his wife, Maria Francisca Perello, and coaching entourage led by former World No. 1 Carlos Moya.
Rafa Junior, as he is popularly known, has mostly been in the comforting arms of his parents and was spotted getting all the love during Nadal's preseason camp in Kuwait in the first raw footage of him on a tennis court in the company of his father.
At the Brisbane International, where Nadal is making his tennis comeback after 11 months of being on the sidelines, he walked hand-in-hand with his toddler to the practice courts in an adorable moment that was captured by the backstage video cameras and which melted the hearts of tennis fans.

Rafael Nadal made his official comeback to tennis at the 2024 Brisbane International, losing with good friend Marc Lopez against native hopefuls Jordan Thompson and Max Purcell.
Nadal and Lopez teamed up for some historic moments in the past, but we're past that at this point, at least in this combo in the doubles. What was iconic was the Spaniard stepping back on a tennis court again, a sight so many fans missed for the past year.
He's been out since January 2023 due to a hip injury, and this marks the first official time he has stood on a tennis court competitively again. It was interesting, predictably rusty, but with many smiles from Nadal, Lopez, the crowd, and everybody involved.
It was a feel-good match despite the effort being a loss. Obviously, Thompson and Purcell are a pretty good doubles combo, especially in the case of Purcell, who is a Grand Slam-winning doubles player.

Rafael Nadal is coming back to tennis at the 2024 Brisbane International, and while many thought his first-round match may be a walk in the park, it will be far from the truth.

Rafael Nadal is in a double act at next week's Brisbane International, where he is set to return to the Atp Tour for the first time in 12 months.

Thanasi Kokkinakis was supposed to be part of the Australian Davis Cup Team at the 2023 Davis Cup Finals, but he won't because of an injury.
Thanasi Kokkinakis endured a really heartbreaking career. After breaking out as a teenager, the Australian kept battling injuries for years. This year was the healthiest he's ever been, and it reflected in his results as he managed to record some important wins.
As such, he was expected to be a vital part of the Australian Davis Cup Team, but that won't be happening as he got injured.
He was in action a few weeks ago back home in Australia, playing some Atp Challenger events, but he twisted his ankle at one of them, forcing him to abandon plans of playing in the Davis Cup. Team Captain Lleyton Hewitt confirmed it.
Well, he got injured. He played a tournament in Sydney a few weeks ago and twisted his ankle.

Novak Djokovic's seventh Paris Masters title had brought a significant shift in the year-end race and the Olympics race as the 2023 season draws to a close.
The World No. 1 defeated in-form Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets to win the 40th Masters 1000 title of his career, which is a record at this tournament level. Djokovic extended his gap at the top of the world rankings to 2,990 points ahead of Carlos Alcaraz.
Djokovic just needs one win at the Atp Finals, which begins Sunday, November 12, to be certain of finishing as the year-end No. 1 for a record-extending eighth time. The Serbian star racked up 1,000 points for his Paris win and overtook Alcaraz in the Olympics race.
The 24-time major champion has now accumulated 5,200 points since mid-June when the Olympics race started accruing points. He is 920 points ahead of second-placed Alcaraz. Djokovic could potentially have one last crack at the Olympic Games...

Ben Shelton is keeping his Japan Open run going after enduring another close battle in the Japanese capital against Jordan Thomspon.
Many expected Alexander Zverev to come out of that first-round match against Jordan Thompson , but it was the Australian who produced a really good effort to take down Zerev and set up this matchup against Shelton.
Shelton himself had a tricky first-round matchup but produced a good enough effort to secure a spot in the next round, and it repeated today. It was a very close matchup, which we kind of expected, but Shelton found a way to win it in the end.
The opening set went to a tiebreak, which is the least shocking thing about this matchup. Shelton dominated on his serve, allowing very few chances on the serve of Thompson.
The Australian had to save more break points in the match, but he held his serve in those situations,...

Ben Shelton is still winning, but can he do that against the very tricky Jordan Thompson at the 2023 Japan Open in Tokyo?
Ben Shelton put together his best run at an Atp 1000 event recently in Shanghai, where compatriot Sebastian Korda proved too hard to overcome. The American continued his East Asia exploits in Tokyo, where he won a really close opening-round match against native player Taro Daniel .
His next match promises to be a more complicated one because he's facing a tougher player who played an amazing match in round one. Thompson bested Alexander Zverev in his first match in Tokyo and he'll be looking to do that against Shelton.
Head-to-head:
Shelton and Thompson actually played once against each other. It happened last year at the Chicago Atp Challenger, with Shelton emerging on top in a very close 2-set battle.
Something similar will likely happen here as well, though a...

Ben Shelton made a winning start at the 2023 Japan Open , beating home player Taro Daniel in the opening round.
There probably hasn't been a more exciting player on the Atp Tour in recent months than the 21-year-old American. Shelton didn't initially even want to play tennis , yet, here he is as one of the biggest talents.
According to Pam Shriver, he's the leader of his age group , and after his most recent success at the US Open, he now travelled to Tokyo, where he took on Taro Daniel in the first round of the tournament .
The match started well for the American, who got an early break in the first game of the match, but, his opponent immediately managed to break back, and on top of that, he added one more break to gain a 3-1 lead.

The Race to Turin is heating up with close to five players outside the Top 8 positions jostling to join in, but who will succeed?
So far, we know with certainty that Novak Djokovic , Carlos Alcaraz , Daniil Medvedev , and Jannik Sinner have sealed their spots in the eight-man caravan that will travel at the season finale. The Atp Finals will begin on November 12th.
Djokovic and Alcaraz are fighting their own battle for the year-end No. 1 ranking. Just 500 points separate the world's top two in one of the closely contested finishes at the top since 2016. Alcaraz can draw level if he wins in Basel next weekend.
Medvedev and Sinner sit in 3rd and 4th respectively and it is unlikely they would swap places at this stage. But just below them, we have quite a number of players looking to finish in the Top 8. The current cut-off point for Turin is 4,555, and...

Alexander Zverev had a shockingly bad outing at the 2023 Japan Open losing to Jordan Thompson and he reacted to it after his match.
This was a pretty important tournament for Zverev as he needs a few more points to secure his appearance at the Atp Finals in Turin in a few weeks. He currently occupies number 7 in the Race, but a few players are in striking distance, making his participation in Turin relatively uncertain.
He's still favoured to be there, but this loss won't help him get there, as he was expected to win at least a few matches. The conditions favour his style of play and serve; however, the serve betrayed him. It wasn't the only reason he lost because his opponent also played quite well, which Zverev recognized after the match.

Alexander Zverev is fighting for a spot in the year-end Atp tournament Turin, but losing early to Jordan Thompson at the Japan Open isn't going to help him get there.
Zverev had high hopes for his stay in Japan where his style of play would have been a major strength but it wasn't a long stay at all. After losing relatively early at the Shanghai Masters due to fatigue, Zverev looked set for a deep run in Japan but he was beaten easily by Jordan Thompson in his first match.
The Australian is a good player, but Zverev played a bad match; it's as simple as that. His serve was nowhere to be seen, and things simply fell apart after that.
It's the one thing that he needed to win, but he never found a good rhythm and crashed out of the tournament, not earning anywhere near as many points...

Alexander Zverev surprisingly lost already in the first round of the 2023 Japan Open , losing to Australia's Jordan Thompson .
After the draw for the 2023 Japan Open came out, it was clear that fans at the Atp 500 tournament in Tokyo will get to see many interesting matches. And one of those was the first-round clash between Zverev and Thompson .
The two met only once before, and it was six years ago, but as expected, the German handled that match well, winning in three sets. But this time, the situation was vastly diferent.
Zverev lost in his last match in Beijing to Daniil Medvedev ; he then suffered a first-round loss in Shanghai to Roman Safiullin , and the 26-year-old was coming to Tokyo with four consecutive sets lost.
And Thompson certainly wanted to expose his opponent's weaknesses and vulnerability, and he managed to do that. Zverev had three break points in the opening game,...

Alexander Zverev will take part in the Japan Open , and his first test will be Jordan Thompson , a player he's familiar with.
Alexander Zverev had some really solid weeks in Asia, winning a trophy in Chengdu before putting together a good run at the China Open as well . He didn't play well in Shanghai as he was fatigued, but he should return to form at the Japan Open following a good week of rest.
Jordan Thompson will be a tricky challenge as the Australian is capable of producing a really good level, especially on hard courts, but can he beat the German? Let's find out.
Head-to-head:
They played two matches so far on the Atp Tour, and Zverev won both. That in itself is not a huge surprise, but it's also not a good indicator, as the most recent one happened six years ago in 2017. A lot has happened since then,...

Also called the Hall of Fame Open, the tournament in Newport, Rhode Island in the United States, is the last grass-court tournament in the calendar, and the only tournament played on the grass surface after the conclusion of the third Grand Slam of the season.
Last year saw Maxime Cressy and Alexander Bublik battle it out in the final, after which the Kazakhstani player hilariously told his opponent that he was lucky . This year, the runner-up won't play in Newport, while the defending champion will be present at the event.
Cressy is the fifth seed, and in the first round of the tournament, he will play against fellow American Alex Michelsen. But the main storyline of the tournament will certainly be the shocking comeback of Kevin Anderson who retired only a couple of years ago.

Mallorca (Spain), June 29 (Ians) Yannick Hanfmann continued his strong performance in the 2023 season as he claimed his first Top 5 victim, beating top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in three games in the pre-quarterfinals of the Mallorca Championships here.
The German player overcame defending champion Tsitsipas of Greece 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 in the grass-court Atp 250 event in Spain’s Balearic Islands for the biggest win of his career on Wednesday night. Hanfmann won 80 per cent (36/45) of points behind his first serve in a rock-solid performance to reach his first non-clay Atp Tour quarterfinal.
Hanfmann broke Tsitsipas’ serve in the opening game of the match and two more times in the deciding set to seal his victory. The 2023 Houston Open is one of the first clay-court events in the Atp calendar and we already know the tournament's draw.
The tournament, which is often referred to as the U.S. Men's Clay Court Championship will be played from April 3rd to 9th. Last year, Reilly Opelka triumphed in Houston, but he won't be able to defend his title in 2023 because of an injury that keeps him out of play.
The first-seeded player at the 2023 Houston Open, played at the River Oaks Country Club, is Frances Tiafoe. The top four seeded players have a bye in the first round and so the American will start against Facundo Bagnis or two-time champion Steve Johnson, who won the event in 2017 and 2018.
While Tiafoe can already scout his opponents, the second-seeded Tommy Paul has no clue who will await him in the second round as he'll play against one of the qualifiers.

Before the competition, Tsitsipas was doubtful about his chances of success due to a shoulder injury. Since then, the world number three revealed to the Tennis Channel the main reason why he needed to compete at Indian Wells.
"There is a rule in place in Atp that states that if you don’t play any Masters 1000, there are certain penalties such as, they take away your best Masters 1000 performance of last year and you can’t add points to that, which is pretty bad if you think about it."

Stefanos Tsitsipas said he can see the positives in Carlos Alcaraz's and Daniil Medvedev's progress ahead of the 2023 Miami Open.
