HBO in November 2022 announced a third season for The White Lotus, which will bring a new installment of the Mike White-created anthology series to screens.
The first installment, which premiered July 2021 and was set in Hawaii, was nominated for 20 Emmy Awards and won a leading 10, including for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Season 2, set in Sicily, debuted October 30, 2022 and won five Emmys, including a repeat for Jennifer Coolidge.
When will The White Lotus Season 3 premiere?
Originally eyed to premiere in 2024, HBO boss Casey Bloys has said Season 3 will likely arrive in 2025, delayed be the Writers Guild and SAG-AFTRA strikes that shut down production through the heart of 2023. Season 3 of The White Lotus, to be set in Thailand after setting the action in Hawaii for Season 1 and Sicily for Season 2, is now slated to begin filming in and around Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok in February 2024.

While much of the focus of Victoria Monét’s triple-Grammy haul was on her best new artist win, another trophy represents a historic victory that could help break down more barriers for all women in the music industry — her win for best engineered album.
The white-hot singer-songwriter is the first Black woman to win the award in the show’s 66-year history, since she co-engineered her major-label debut album, Jaguar II.
She is the fourth woman to take home the coveted Grammy, following previous wins by Imogen Heap, Trina Shoemaker and Emily Lazar. When Monét — who writes and produces her music and has crafted hits for Ariana Grande, Blackpink, Chloe x Halle and Chris Brown — speaks to THR a few weeks after that magical night to reflect on the groundbreaking milestone, she says, “It’s a beautiful thing.”
But she also adds that “it says a lot” about the industry.

Sales of cassette tapes are at their highest levels in 20 years.
The surge has been driven by high-selling releases from bands such as the Arctic Monkeys, and pop star Harry Styles.
According to new research from The British Phonographic Industry, sales of cassette tapes have risen for 10 consecutive years.
In 2012, the total number of cassette sales was just 3,823. In 2022, the annual figure had risen to 195,000.
However, cassette sales still lag far behind other formats, including vinyl records.
Also among the biggest selling cassette artists was Florence + the Machine. The best-selling cassette album of the year was The Car by Arctic Monkeys, released in October. Harry’s House by Styles followed in second place, while Florence + the Machine’s Dance Fever came in third.

Blackpink just made history at Coachella. The K-pop heavyweights — Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé — performed an almost two-hour-long set of their greatest hits as they closed at a jam-packed second night of Coachella on Saturday.
The performance actually started 30 minutes later than planned, but fans didn’t seem to mind the wait. A group of dancers kicked things off with dramatic choreography, building up the anticipation for the girls. Then, Blackpink appeared behind clouds of smoke and immediately burst into a high-voltage rendition of “Pink Venom” that elicited wild screams and cheers from the crowd.

Twice-impeached and now-indicted former president Donald Trump made a point to compliment a female employee of Chinese president Xi Jingping during his interview with Tucker Carlson this week, and on Wednesday night, CBS late night host James Corden was simply exhausted by it.
In the interview on Tuesday, Trump spent a fair bit of time complimenting Chinese leader Xi Jinping, calling him “a brilliant man” and saying no one could ever capture his “look, the brain, the whole thing.” Trump then complimented Jinping’s translator for some reason.
“He had an incredible — I’m not allowed to say it because it’s very impolite and very politically incorrect — a beautiful female interpreter,” Trump said.
In watching the clip on Wednesday night’s show, Corden simply hung his head in his hand in exasperation.

The U.S. government is currently trying to track down the source of a massive leak of military intel, but James Corden is pretty sure he already knows who the culprit was: President Joe Biden.
The “Late Late Show” host offered his guess on the matter Monday night to kick off his news segment. For those who aren’t aware, more than 50 classified military documents have surfaced online, after being leaked to various social media sites. It’s being considered one of the most high-profile lapses in security in decades, but a lot of info remains unclear in this situation.
“It’s unknown who obtained the documents, who leaked the documents online, or if they’ve been altered in any way at all. But besides those minor details, the government knows exactly what’s going on,” Corden joked.

Earlier this year, Cub Sport members Tim Nelson and Sam Netterfield — who have been married since 2018 — shared a kiss on the Grammy Awards’ red carpet. They were celebrating Nelson’s nomination as an engineer on electronic artist Baynk’s recent album and didn’t think much of the public display of affection. But later, they were surprised to see tabloids like the Daily Mail describe their smooch as a red carpet “wild moment.”
“Honestly, we do kissing photos everywhere. I did not expect it to be presented as this… Normalize queer kissing!

Netflix’s surprise 2018 Ya rom-com hit “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” spawned a lot of hard-to-duplicate success metrics: star Noah Centineo gained over 12 million Instagram followers in the two months following the film’s premiere, Japanese probiotic milk Yokult saw a surge in sales from its brief product cameo and Norwegian singer-songwriter Anna of the North scored a viral hit and her first-ever U.S. tour after her steamy, synthy song “Lovers” was featured in a fan-favorite hot tub scene between lead characters Lara Jean (Lana Condor) and Peter Kavisnky (Centineo.)

YouTube revealed its top videos of the year on Thursday, with Lil Nas X and Shawn Mendes being two of the standout performers when it came to music videos, while established creators like PewDiePie also made an appearance on its year-end roundup.
Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” which featured Billy Ray Cyrus, was the most-viewed music video in the U.S. this year. The video for the mammoth single, which was uploaded in early April, has racked up nearly 470 million views so far — even though it only includes the song and artwork of two horses galloping; the live-action music video that came out the following month, pulling in about 400 million views, ended up being the fifth most-viewed U.S. music video of the year.
Internationally, though, the song was “only” the fifth most-liked music video of the year, falling behind Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, who grabbed the top slot with “Senorita.
