The boys are living their Godfather fantasy.
On Thursday, J Balvin released his new single “Triple S” featuring Jowell & Randy, and De La Ghetto, along with its Corleone family-esque video, which sees the four men showing up to a blood-filled mansion as mafiosos.
As they drop bars about a woman who’s “single, strong, and not to be messed with,” the four men walk through a large home in preparation for a dinner, in which guests end up falling like flies after taking sips of their drinks and bites of their food.

Eighteen years ago, before his debut on the 2005 compilation album "Sangre Nueva," not many were familiar with Puerto Rican reggaetón artist Arcángel. In the early days of his music career, Arcángel would sing on mixtapes for his friends and for locals in the rough San Juan neighborhoods of Villa Palmeras and La Perla, where he grew up. But these days, he has millions of listeners tuning in to his music, making him one of the biggest stars of the genre.
As Arcángel sits down for our virtual interview, his usual sunglasses are off. He looks straight at the webcam - not the screen - as if having a face-to-face conversation.
There's a startling amount of empathy in his eyes, which is both surprising and not when you consider his tumultuous early years, marked by hustling on the streets and finding ways to get by. People tend to associate that kind of life with cynical personalities,...

It’s been a year since Bad Bunny has been on tour, but now, fans won’t have to wait much longer.
In February next year, Bad Bunny will kick off his Most Wanted Tour, where he will perform 47 shows across 31 North American cities. Major cities like Chicago, New York City and Miami will have the “Un Verano Sin Ti” singer performing for three nights each.
The Puerto Rican’s upcoming Most Wanted Tour was announced in October, shortly after the release of his fifth studio album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana.
The announcement on social media came in the form of a short video with Bad Bunny in a mask riding a horse and stopping in front of a building covered with “Most Wanted” posters all over the exterior wall. He then gets off the horse to take one of the posters down, looks at it,...

In our Q&a /feature series Tell Me Más, we ask some of our favorite Latine artists to answer the questions only their BFFs know about them, revealing everything from their most recent read to the songs that get them hyped. This month, indie rap wondercon Gyanma drops in and gives us his take on the current state of Puerto Rico's music scene.
In Puerto Rico, reggaetón is king. And while that fact has given multiple generations plenty of opportunities and anthems pa' perrear, it's also meant that alternative sounds, or even music that was reggaetón-adjacent, didn't get much love outside of the underground. But today, even amidst a new trap wave and a resurgence of the old school-reggaetón sound, a new guard of up-and-coming emcees is shifting the paradigm on the island. They are fusing genres and making music that breaks from the established formula. Case and point: Gyanma,...

De La Ghetto has been a towering figure in the Latin music industry. The Puerto Rican artist, known for making major reggaeton hits, has always swerved between genres, adding in dashes of rap and R&b to his smooth sound and staying on top of rising artists before the masses. In fact, he was one of the early supporters of Latin trap and thought about signing Myke Towers when the rapper was just a teenager.

Latin stars Cazzu and Young Miko are bringing their trap styles together for fiery, dembow-tinged collaboration “Brinca.” On Friday, the duo released the single, and its museum-set video celebrating the track.
The Ballvu-directed video sees Cazzu arriving at a museum before staring at an abstract painting that resembles her. She’s then transported into a dream state, where she poses in a star-shaped chair while surrounded by some AK47-wielding dancers as she raps some sapphic lyrics.
“Indomitable/They want with Cazzu and Miko at the same time,” Cazzu raps.

Over the last couple of years, the Puerto Rican artist and producer Mora has spent months playing back-to-back shows in Europe, getting to know completely new countries and soaking in sounds wherever he went. One place that he immediately connected with was the island of Ibiza, where deep house blends and dreamy Balearic beats pumped up dancefloors at all hours of the night.
“As soon as I was done with my tour, I was like, ‘I’m going back to Ibiza,'” he tells Rolling Stone. The 26-year-old artist, whose...

Despues de las 12, anything can happen — even hearing a música Mexicana artist perform on a reggaeton track. That happened on Thursday, when Kim Loaiza and Ovi premiered the music video for their song “Después de las 12,” which features a verse from Grupo Firme’s Eduin Caz and one from Chilean artist Pailita.
In a video directed by Guillermo Figueredo, the four artists hang out in a futuristic warehouse as Loaiza sings from inside a glass cage, surrounded by women taking photos of her. The end of the video shows Loaiza...

Pura loquera in Rauw Alejandro’s new video. On Monday, the Puerto Rican star went full-throttle with the perreo-inducing sounds on his new single “Lokera,” which features fellow boricuas Brray and Lyanno, proving that summer is far from over.
The video — which captures the three artists going wild at a house party, all seemingly filmed in a single take — sees Rauw get into a fight with a woman before the camera pans to the packed house and backyard for endless perreo (twerking), drinks, and hookah at a reventón. And like...

Over the last several years, rising Puerto Rican artist Eix has built out his sound and attracted new fans through his enthusiastic live performances and notable collaborations with the likes of Kiko El Crazy, Rauw Alejandro, De La Ghetto, Guaynaa and others. For his latest track “Cuando Te Veo,” produced by the Dominican multi-hyphenate Maffio, Eix taps the smooth-voiced Colombian-born, Venezuelan-raised artist Beéle for a few verses that keep the song sweet, summery, and super melodic.

Maluma knows that sex sells. One need only refer to his last full-length effort, 2020’s Papi Juancho, which returned the Colombian singer and bonafide superstar to smutty form following the arena ambitions of the preceding 11:11. His ability to pivot between the after hours sinful pleasure seeking of “Felices Los 4” and the Hollywood-polished rom-com accessibility of this year J. Lo starrer Marry Me shows that he’s a successful smooth operator in the music industry.
In the roughly two years since Papi Juancho, the Latin pop landscape has somehow both broadened and narrowed.
