Tull Stories will release Savage Waters theatrically as part of its Adventure Club strand before releasing on VoD after completing a deal with the movie’s distributor Abacus Media Rights, which boarded two years ago.
Narrated by The Crown star Dance, Savage Waters follows renowned skipper Matt Knight, sailing to unpredictable and uncharted regions to adventure into the most dangerous waters of the Atlantic and find a spectacular big wave with surfer Andrew Cotton. Their journey is inspired by a passage in a 19th century treasure hunter’s journal.
Savage Waters comes from Mikey Corker (Lord of War), is produced by Ghislaine Couvillat (Girls Can’t Surf) and executive produced by Kathleen Glynn (Fahrenheit 9/11), Peggy Cafferty (Ladder 49), Lorcan Kavanagh (The Midnight Man) and Maia Norman.

Sky News Head John Ryley is stepping down next year after almost 20 years at the helm. In a letter to colleagues over the weekend, the UK news vet said he would move on to projects “incompatible with leading a news organisation” and that the plan was always to step down by summer 2023. A new Head of News will be unveiled in the coming weeks. Ryley has overseen huge shifts in the news landscape and major stories during a 17-year tenure, including the 2008 financial crash, Brexit, the election of Donald Trump and Covid-19 pandemic. Set during the 1980s in the world of professional surfing, it tracks a band of renegade female surfers who took on the male-dominated sport to achieve equality.

Director Nelius co-wrote the pic with Anne De Ruvo. It is produced by Michaela Perske of Pursekey Productions with Nelius.
