Britney Spears lost custody of her two sons because she doesn't have a valid driver's license, according to her lawyer. Attorney Sorrell Trope claims Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon also handed Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one, over to their father Kevin Federline because Spears failed to take a random drug and alcohol test. The decision to grant Federline physical custody was made in a closed-door hearing in L.A. on Monday. Trope tells People.com, "We weren't able to prove compliance with what the judge ordered. Specifically, the judge ordered that by 10am (Monday) morning, both parties show valid California driving licenses. I've been unable to produce evidence of that." According to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Spears - currently charged with misdemeanor hit and run and driving without a valid license - has never held a valid California driver's license, but applied for one immediately after leaving court. Spears was also accused in court of failing to attend a drug and alcohol test, imposed by a previous court order. She will have to wait until the next hearing on Wednesday to learn if she can win back custody of her sons.

Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz has fueled rumors she is dating actor Bradley Cooper after the pair were spotted together in New York. The In Her Shoes star, 35, and newly-divorced Cooper, 32, were spotted caressing each other during a meal at Morgans Hotel in the city. They were also spotted enjoying a New York Giants game on Sunday night. A source tells New York gossip column PageSix, "(They) were very close and lovely. Something is definitely going on, and it's clear they are more than just friends." Last month, Wedding Crashers star Cooper was rumored to be dating Jennifer Aniston - speculation the Friends actress denies.

Actress Jane Seymour's bid for dancing glory on TV in America has taken a stumble - the woman who inspired her to sign up for the current season of Dancing With The Stars has died. Seymour will miss Tuesday's live results show as she travels to England to be with her family following the death of her elderly mother. The 92-year-old died in England on Monday due to complications from a stroke. Seymour recently admitted she was inspired to take part in Dancing With The Stars after her ailing mum became excited when the British beauty told her of her plans - and uttered her first words since the stroke. In a statement, Seymour says, "My mother survived incredible challenges... Her health issues that she never complained about... three and a half years in a Japanese concentration camp in World War II and the loss of her husband John, who was the love of her life. However, she was always a beacon of love and hope for all she met and especially for my sisters Anne and Sally and for our entire family. Her spirit was indomitable and will continue to live forever in our hearts."

Nicolas Cage had the shock of his life in the early hours of Monday morning - when he awoke to find a man prowling around his California property. The Oscar-winning Leaving Las Vegas star called a security guard at his gated community in Newport Beach after spotting tailor Robert Furo walking inside his home while wearing one of his jackets. Furo was arrested at 2am and has been charged with burglary. He pleaded not guilty at the arraignment and is being held on $50,000 bail.

Actor Brad Pitt loves fatherhood so much he wants to have another baby with partner Angelina Jolie. The couple have their own biological daughter, one-year-old Shiloh, as well as their adopted children Maddox, six, Pax, three and Zahara, two . But Pitt has decided it's time for them to expand their family again. He says, "We are ready for another one. The most important thing about having kids is to make sure we carve out our time for them. We give them group time and one-on-one time because it's our responsibility to help shape them. So it's fatherhood first, and then we slip into work."

Kind hearted Robert De Niro has spent time visiting jails offering help to prison convicts. De Niro met actor Danny Trejo on the set of Michael Mann's 1995 crime epic Heat, and he was intrigued to hear the Hollywood tough guy - who is a reformed criminal - regularly gives motivational talks to prison inmates. And Trejo was quick to invite the Hollywood legend along. He says, "I always ask movie stars to come out to jails with me and talk. That guy (De Niro) actually showed up. He went out to jail where everybody was hardcore. And he came and talked. On his own. I was so sure he wouldn't turn up, I didn't put his name on the list. Then all of a sudden we got a call from the front desk, saying, 'We got Robert De Niro down here!'"

Wrestler-turned-movie star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has made history at his former college by handing over $1 million to fund football facilities at the University Of Miami. The action man, who played football at the Florida university a decade ago, now becomes the most generous former student athlete in the school's history. Johnson's cash gift will help to fund renovation in the university's athletic department. The Miami Hurricanes' football locker room will be renamed in the actor's honour. In making the donation on Tuesday, Johnson said, "My wife Dany and I have always said that being a student athlete here at the University Of Miami has always been a tremendous part of our lives. I have said it time and time again, that this program was a launching pad for my success." Johnson and his wife met at the university. They announced their separation in June.

Sir Elton John has asked for his controversial photographic exhibit to be taken down after it became the center of a child porn investigation. The legendary singer donated over 4,000 photos to the show at the Baltic Center For Contemporary Art, in Gateshead, England. But the exhibition was rocked after a picture by famed photographer Nan Goldin was seized by police for possibly breaching pornography legislation. The hitmaker has now urged the gallery to remove the photographs. A spokesman for the gallery says, "Baltic Centre For Contemporary Art, at the request of the Sir Elton John Photography Collection, has closed the exhibition. After the removal of one image from the series it was no longer possible for Baltic to exhibit the collection of works as the artist intended. Therefore Baltic is sympathetic to Sir Elton John's request and supportive of the decision."

The Ghost Rider star reveals she's not with child and is tiring of stories linking her to babies and marriage. She says, "I don't wanna have kids... I don't think it fits in my world today." Mendes claims the latest pregnancy reports came about after she put on a little weight: "I'm off season right now.
