5.0 out of 5 stars 33 Spanish Political shortcuts, 26 Sep 2006

Hay, Motivo
The movie.

This is a feature-length film made up of 32 smaller pieces of about three minutes each, plus an epilogue. Each of the shorts is directed by a different cinema director and aims at criticising some aspect of the political and social reality of Spain , which noticeably deteriorated during the legislature from 2000 to 2004.

In we were encouraged by the legitimate right to freedom of expression; we wanted to open the citizens' eyes to some of the problems, either forgotten, manipulated, ignored, or directly dismissed by the Government of the last few years.

Unfortunately, reality stubbornly broke through and citizens have seen the Popular Party `s true colours, in all their crudity, due to the facts that followed the terrifying terrorist outrage on 11-M in Madrid . Just as we have denounced in many of the short movies in, José María Aznar's government tried, by any possible means, to deceive the Spanish people as to the culprits of the outrage, in the simplistic belief that a new attack from ETA would gain votes for the Popular Party.

Let us not deceive ourselves. Even though there is no evidence that ETA had any part in the train attacks in Madrid , the organization is still a terrorist band which only warrants our unanimous condemnation. On the other hand, nobody is pleased that the investigations into the atrocity point firmly towards Al Qaeda - neither the opposition parties nor, of course, the group of film makers who form

But the behaviour of some members of the Government has been deplorable and the citizenship has punished the Government's party in the ballot boxes.

has decided to make a last short, which will be the thirty-third, explaining our view of the matter. With this last chapter we will bring the film to an end, and will try once again to make it public.
