Born in Texas. Father - John Charles Moore, Mother - Minnie Tucker. Raised on the farm with 6 brothers and sisters. Moved to Hollywood, when he was 22 years old, after flipping a coin to move to either Hollywood or Miami. Spent 1st year at UCLA, then his teacher suggested Chouinard School of Design in Hollywood. Liam Little, from RKO Studios went to Chouinards to chose two set designers. My father Syd was one of the designer he chose. First film he worked on was "Flying Down to Rio", with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. After 15 years working on some of the great classic films, he left Hollywood, and moved back to Texas. He was married to Elenor Daily, while living in Hollywood, and they had two children, Kathleen Susan, and John Michael. His 2nd marriage was in 1951, in Lubbock, Texas, with Winnie Mae Walker. They had two children, Charles Patrick and Robert Sydney.- Composer
