Maggie risks her job when Jeff goes to the dentists and she puts Aidan's plane ticket sale through on the computer so that it will not show up. Returning home she has a row with Becca who goes next door and takes an accidental overdose, putting herself in hospital. Phil blames Paul, who should have been looking after her and who feels shut out as the Mees gather around Becca's bedside.
- Maggie discovers Becca's diary and starts to read it in the hopes of finding out why she took the over-dose. Becca catches her and harsh words are exchanged before the pair reconcile. Paul is verbally attacked by an interfering parent-governor who believes that it is wrong for him to date Maggie as it affects his teaching, threatening to tell the press. Paul's son Simon, fearing possible media interest, contacts his mother Paula, and her reappearance and possible rapprochement with Paul gives Phil some hope that he can get back with Maggie.

However when she feels that he is lying about his income to under-pay child maintenance she threatens to report him to the Child Support Agency. Feeling more confident she has a night out with work colleagues and next morning wakes up in bed with the much younger Smudge.

Brenda and Eric are looking for a new property so Phil suggests that they go off with Maggie whilst her parents take the house next door and Mia moves into the Mees' house with James - who has been spotted by a music producer forming a new boy band - and Becca,a budding film-maker.
