- Laverne is in deep denial when she learns that her boyfriend, a firefighter with the Milwaukee Fire Department, is killed fighting an apartment blaze.

- Laverne loves stuntman Sonny, but fears losing him if a stunt fails. Shirley tells Sonny. He quits to sell insurance, giving Laverne less to worry about. Seeing later that he's now unhappy, Laverne plots to get him back where he belongs.

- When Rhonda asks Laverne to pick up a job application for her at the local Playboy Bunny Club, it's Laverne who gets the job offer, and accepts the job against her father's wishes.
- Lenny and Squiggy attend a silent movie show. They like how the boy gets the girl. Failing to do so at Frank's restaurant, they discuss how the "leading man" could be used to their advantage. Shown in "silent films" starring them.
- It's the Bowling Championship for the Shotz ladies bowling team. Laverne comes down with a bad cold on the night of the game.
- Squiggy and Lenny move into the girls' building, making them all neighbors.
- Rhonda and Carmine are up for parts in the life story of boxer Rocky Manicotti. Carmine, however, is up against a real boxer and must hone his boxing skills once again, as well as his acting. Will the Big Ragu deliver a knockout performance?
- Laverne DeFazio and Shirley Feeney mingle at a dinner party that's being given by their boss's family.
- Frank and Carmine have an all-out debate about whose generation's music and movies are better. The comparisons are shown in entertaining performances by the cast members.

- A burglar has been breaking in and stealing select items from the girls' place while they're at work. Frank and Carmine decide to help by setting up special traps to catch the culprit in the act.
