- Most places where people fall in love with each other exist longer than the loves themselves. But sometimes it is the other way around: then the relationships last longer than the place where they originated. Dozens of couples got to know each other at ballroom dancing school 'De Bra'. In the 1950s and 1960s it was one of the few places where boys and girls could meet. Neat teenagers simply went to dance lessons. When the dance school of director Marieke DE Bra's parents closed its doors in 2019 after 83 years, she decided to find out how many couples from back then were still together. 'The Last Dance' is the film adaptation of three of these encounter stories from a disappearing zeitgeist. While we meet the love couples, they prepare for one last dance in a recreated 'dance school De Bra'.
