A Sad Loss For Silent Film Fans
PamelaShort7 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Geraldine Seagrave ( Elsie Ferguson ) and her brother Scott ( Edmund Burns ) have inherited the family estate after their father's death along with his predisposition for the bottle . They live a secluded life until Geraldine is the right age for her coming out party. During the party, prospective suitor Jack Dysart ( Crauford Kent ) prompts Geraldine to take a drink, and the girl ends up embarrassing herself in front of an old friend , Duane Mallet ( Mahlon Hamilton ). Duane's sister Sylvia ( Gertrude McCoy ) who is still very much in love with Jack , seeks Geraldine's help in winning him back. Geraldine tricks Jack into marrying Sylvia, then accepts Duane's marriage proposal, that saves her from the inherited curse of alcohol ...

Sadly, The Danger Mark , a Famous Players-Lasky produced silent film based on a dramatic play is now lost . It boasted two big silent film stars , Elsie Ferguson and Gertrude McCoy , both of whom careers did not survive talking pictures .
