This lost 1920 silent film was produced by Famous Players-Lasky and was released through Paramount Pictures. It starred stage matinée idol Robert Warwick and Lois Wilson. Robert Warwick plays Myles Calthrope a soldier of fortune who quits his job in the African mines after becoming suspicious his employers are diamond smugglers. He heads south where he meets and falls in love with Joan Farrant ( Lois Wilson ). Joan who is unaware that her brother Henry ( J.M.Dumont ) is in the diamond smuggling business, obtains Myles a position in the family firm. When Myles is given an envelope to deliver, diamonds are found in the package when he is searched aboard ship. Arrested and charged with robbery he is imprisoned, and after completing his sentence, Myles finds a job on a sugar plantation owned by Mr. Prescott ( Harry Carter ). Once again he meets Joan who now rejects him as a smuggler. However, Mr. Prescott is determined to prove Myles's innocence and discovers Henry Farrant was guilty of the crime. Farrant now on his deathbed, completely exonerates Myles. Joan realizes how horribly she misjudged Myles, goes to him and begs his forgiveness. Sadly this silent drama is on the long list of silent film casualties.
