On a Monday night when every scripted series held steady in the demo, about the only “interesting” data point I can run by you is the fact that Fox’s Gotham drew its largest audience — 4.6 million total viewers, up 12 percent week-to-week — since Sept. 28.
In the demo, the freshman drama matched its winter premiere’s 1.5.

ABC | The Bachelor did 7.4 mil and a 2.2, down 10 percent and two tenths from last season’s “Women Tell All” thingy.

Being hard as nails isn’t a prerequisite to playing professional football on Merseyside, but it certainly helps, regardless of whether you happen to bleed red or blue.
Everton have had more than their fair share of bruisers over the years, fearsome characters who never shied away from a leg-biting tackle, gave the opposition nightmares, and made Goodison Park recoil and cheer in equal measure.
Roberto Martinez’s current Toffees squad is a far cry from Joe Royle’s ‘Dogs of War’, dedicated to a style of play that’s easier on the eye, but the no-holds-barred mentality of Muhamed Besic and Ramiro Funes Mori harks back to the combative days of old.

So as you can tell I’m pretty excited about what Lemire and Kindt are doing in recent happenings in Valiant comics, but before the current Valiant universe one of, if not the the major player in the original universe from the ’90s, one Jim Shooter, was ousted and went on to create Defiant comics. Among those that went with him was David Lapham, an artist/writer who would go on to win Eisners for his independent work. Lapham would be the artist on the debut comic from Defiant, but before he did that, before anyone did anything we could put in our hands, we got Mongrel. We never saw him again.
It’s no secret that the medium of comic books, at least in the United States, is mostly dominated by characters that have been around for decades and come with not only a personal history, but in many cases multiple histories.

If the 3rd annual Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards could be categorised as a David vs Goliath battle between The Rocket and The Great Gatsby, Goliath is the hands-down winner.
Baz Luhrmann.s opulent romantic drama won six awards tonight, for best film, director, adapted screenplay, lead actor Leonardo DiCaprio, supporting actor Joel Edgerton and supporting actress Elizabeth Debicki.
That.s in addition to the six awards in craft categories plus the Aacta award for outstanding achievement in visual effects bestowed on Luhrmann.s film on Tuesday.
Kim Mordaunt's The Rocket, which had 12 nominations versus 14 for Gatsby, had to be content with just one trophy, for Mordaunt.s original screenplay.
The outcome is likely to reignite the debate about the near-impossibility of comparing a lavishly-mounted 3D film financed by Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures, which cost $160 million, with an independently-funded Lao-set film from a first-time director budgeted at about $2 million.

Universal Studios Orlando is celebrating 23 years of scaring people at their annual Halloween Horror Nights event and they're doing it with bigger and more intense terror. The studio has lined up some of the horror genre's biggest properties to base their haunted mazes on, from "The Walking Dead," to "Cabin in the Woods," to "An American Werewolf in London."
"An American Werewolf in London" seems to be the one the creative team behind Halloween Horror Nights is most excited about, and working with the movie's director, John Landis, is the icing on the cake. According to Creative Director Michael Aiello, the maze has been "a passion project for us for about four of five years."
It takes visitors through a narrative of the movies, with several key scenes recreated. Keep an eye out for the giant hand-operated werewolf puppets and that transformation scene, which includes some pretty spectacular effects.

Master Spy Sterling Archer is dashing, dangerous, drunken, and overly educated? Archer is a rare gem among American animated television shows. Not only does it contain the foul-mouthed adolescent sex humour we have come to love, but also blends in seamlessly obscure literary references with subtle dialogue or the occasional heavy handed over explanation. Agent Sterling Archer proves in each dangerous Isis orchestrated mission that he has not only intensely studied The Art of Seduction and the Kama Sutra, but many other great works of literary genius as well.
While “literally” every episode contains some reference to literature or literary concepts, we have narrowed the list down to ten obscure fan favorites. I've recounted many times on these pages how deeply the doom-filled strains of bands like Black Sabbath and Pentagram have burned their brand into entire generations of hard rock and metal, but the dark and heavy sounds of that era lend themselves so well to macabre, occult and horror themes that they continue to capture my attention. Many artists try ascending to those heights, but only a few capture the same dark majesty while retaining their own creative stamp. San Francisco-based quartet Orchid is quickly becoming one such band – so much that acclaimed engineer Richard Whittaker, who was instrumental in the remastering of Black Sabbath's early albums (including their self-titled 1970 debut), has been following the group's progress since their 2009 Ep Through the Devil's Doorway, and came aboard to master Orchid's latest full-length studio album The Mouths of Madness. On the heels of last year's well-received Ep The Heretic, Madness sports a cleaner,...

I love how both Chloe and Amy look out for Meredith as she ventures into the dating world with Frank. That Chloe can keep it together for her mom, despite her own heartbreak, says a lot for their relationship.
Elsewhere in "Dogs of War," we discovered a third race, the Jackals. I found it really weird that Jasmine and Alek called Kai an it, and that race collectively animals or things. They didn't recognize the human side of him at all. There was no compromise, even when Chloe made it perfectly clear they would not stop her from returning Kai to his people.
There was a fabulous scene between Chloe and Meredith where the former showed her mom just how mature she has become. Watching their interaction was a beautiful mother/daughter moment that touched upon growing up, trust and love. Skyler Samuels and Amy Pietz couldn't have done a better job.

Well, guess what, folks from Marvel Studio are now more than serious about that Black Panther project.
At least, that’s what we had a chance to read from the latest reports that go like this – the studio has finally hired a documentary writer Mark Bailey to pen the adaptation.
Surprised with this news? Who cares, as long as T’Challa is back!
Let us remind you that Wesley Snipes was attached to an adaptation back in 2006, but the movie never happened.
Then, director John Singleton was brought in to helm Black Panther in 2007 with Chiwetel Ejiofor for the role.
G.I. Joe: the Rise of Cobra’s Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has discussed negotiating for the role in both 2009 and 2010, with no luck.
Now, we have Bailey on board, man with quite impressive background in documentaries (although an unusual choice for this adaptation), such as the 2003 HBO documentary Pandemic: Facing AIDS and A Boy’s Life.
