I know I had said "Mask-A-Raid" is my only favorite Betty Boop cartoon featuring Bimbo that I love. But I do also love "Minding the Baby" and this one - "Betty Boop's Bamboo Island." I had watched it on YouTube, and now this cartoon is another favorite with island dances including Betty's hula dance rotoscoped and a top-notch soundtrack by a group called The Royal Samoans; I had wondered if they had made record albums before this cartoon.
I love it when a group of Samoans appear, and Bimbo disguises himself by painting his face and sticking a bone in his hair, and sings to them thus impressing the natives and made him king. Mind you, that there are minor offensive portrayal of black island natives; just a sight reminder because these portrayals are wrong and that political correctness must assured. Instead of "sweeping away" these cartoons, which that would a shame, talk it over with any elder relatives and try to understand what went on way back then.
Overall I still think it's another great Betty Boop cartoon that co-stars Bimbo.
