- Opening crawl: Dr. Herbert Lee, an American archaeologist, leads a scientific expedition into the wilds to uncover evidence of a lost race. The native queen, known as the Dragon Lady, is determined her kingdom shall not be invaded. Fang, a sinister lawless half-caste who controls half of the natives and holds the white settlers in fear, seeks the riches hidden beneath the Sacred Temple. After the expedition has gone into the jungle to face unknown perils, Terry, Dr. Lee's son, and Pat Ryan, his friend, arrive in Wingpoo with important documents for Dr. Lee.
- Pat Ryan: Which way did Dr. Lee go?
- Thompson, proprietor: I don't know. You don't leave any forwarding address when you into *that* jungle.
- Mr. Harris [Chs. 1-3, 5, 10]: Pardon me, my name is Harris. Did you have any luck with the governor?
- Pat Ryan: Yeah - all bad.
- [translating an ancient scroll]
- Dr. Herbert Lee: The voice of Mara...
- Master Fang: Mara is the sun god in the court of the Temple of the Dawn.
- Dr. Herbert Lee: The very spot I was heading for!
- Master Fang: Yes, yes - that is the Dragon Lady's temple. Read on, Doctor.
- Dr. Herbert Lee: The anger of Mara will be visited upon his people. War, pestilence, famine will humble them until the virtues of man are restored. Then will Mara speak and lead his people to the path of eternal glory.
- Master Fang: Wonderful, Doctor, wonderful. That tells me much; the very thing the natives have been waiting for. That is their legend - that one day Mara will talk. All will be easy now. I will make Mara talk.
- Master Fang: If I can make the god of the natives talk, I can control them through their superstition.
- Dr. Herbert Lee: For what reason?
- Master Fang: In some secret place in the Temple of the Dawn, there are stored all the treasures of a great civilization which prospered here thousands of years ago.
- Dr. Herbert Lee: It was to uncover records of that civilization that I came here, but I am definitely not interested in treasure.
- Master Fang: Nonsense, Doctor. We are all interested in obtaining great wealth. The Dragon Lady has the temple and I am not able to decipher the scrolls and tablets which undoubtedly lead to the treasure. That is where you come in.
- [Terry and Pat find Nomandie at the bottom of a deep pit]
- Pat Ryan: Normandie! How did you get down there?
- Normandie Drake: Oh, look out! The gorilla is lurking nearby.
- Terry Lee: C'mon, Pat. We'll get something to get her out.
- [to Normandie in the pit]
- Terry Lee: Don't go away!
- Pat Ryan: Don't go away?
- Pat Ryan: Connie and Big Stoop will take you to Wingpoo and your father. They can get through safely.
- Normandie Drake: But we can't leave you and Terry out here alone. Let me go with you.
- Terry Lee: Oh, no. Girls handicap us men. Pat and I have got to get my dad.
- Normandie Drake: I know you're right, but...
- [Big Stoop, a magician, has managed to slip out of the ropes that bound his wrists]
- Henchman Blackie: Hey, you! Put your hands behind you. You show me tricks, will you? Now listen all of you...
- [pats his pistol]
- Henchman Blackie: ...I got six tricks in here and if you start anything, I'll show you every one of 'em.
- Dr. Herbert Lee: Did you get to Pat and Terry in time to warn them?
- Connie: Oh, no. They got there first and break phonograph record all to pieces.
- Dr. Herbert Lee: Good!
- Connie: Then they go to Fang's headquarters and blow it up. Bang!
- Normandie Drake: Are they all right?
- Big Stoop: Now they go to Fang's hideout and blow it up. Bigger bang!
- The Dragon Lady: My people, evil has departed. Thanks to our good friends, our enemies are destroyed. Our god is ours again. I, your queen, promise you that all is well. Go to your homes in peace.
