Merrie Melodies. Bugs would not appear in Looney Tunes until 1944.
Bugs plays "Guess who" with Elmer Fudd, who guesses the names of four major Hollywood actresses: Hedy Lamarr, Carole Lombard, Rosemary Lane and Olivia de Havilland. With a speech impediment that causes him to replace l and r sounds with ws, he mangles every name.
Lombard died in a plane crash in 1942, a tragedy still fresh in the public's mind when the A Wild Hare was re-released as a Blue Ribbon short. Carole Lombard's name was re-dubbed with Arthur Q. Bryan (the voice of Elmer) guessing Barbara Stanwyck instead.

The following Warner Bros. cartoons were nominated for Academy Awards. Five of them won the Oscar for Best Animated Short Subject, one of them won for Best Documentary Short Subject. These are duly noted. The directors' names are given for each cartoon.

These films do not represent the best in Warner Bros. animation. Some of these selections--such as Greetings Bait--are thoroughly ordinary. And Knighty Knight Bugs, while funny, is no one's idea of a great Bugs Bunny cartoon.
