During the Stand Up To Cancer telethon on Saturday, Simone Boseman paid tribute to her husband, the late actor Chadwick Boseman, with an emotional performance of the song, “I’ll Be Seeing You.”
The 1938 classic penned by Sammy Fain and Irving Kahal is “a song about living with the reality of loss and finding a way forward,” the event’s co-host Anthony Anderson noted, in introducing her performance.
Before Boseman took to the stage, the Black-ish star offered his own tribute to the Black Panther star, who died last year of colon cancer, aged 43.
“Many of us were devastated to learn of Chadwick Boseman’s tragic passing after he privately grappled with cancer for several years. The world lost an incredible artist and a true hero. But before he was a public figure, he was a person like you or me: a son, a brother, uncle, cousin, friend, colleague, husband,” Anderson said.

Temple's message was "be optimistic", the title of the song she sang in Little Miss Broadway (1938). Her biggest hit songs were On the Good Ship Lollipop, from Bright Eyes (1934), which describes a...

Few comedians command a stage as confidently as Tom Stade.
Imagine the unflinching demeanor and elegance of a peacock, then combine it with the self-assured confidence bestowed upon us by our mighty friend alcohol...and you're still not even close. Simply put, Tom Stade is the product of an innate love of comedy, a willingness to try anything and an attitude that can take as much as it leaves. When this man retires from the stage he leaves you hungry... hungry for comedy; hungry for realism; but above all, hungry for the cold hard truth.
In Tom's routines no stone is left unturned; no avenue to dark...and this Canadian born funnyman knows this. Heck, it's why - in just four years - the guy has gone from recognisable face to one of the UK's most popular comedians, selling out venues across the country.
But what goes on in the...

Fiona Apple has canceled her South American tour stops in a very public, and very emotional way.
The singer, who was set to begin the tour in Porto Alegre, Brazil on Nov. 27, took to her Facebook page to post an image of the four-page hand-written letter she wrote to fans.
"I can't come to South America. Not now," Apple wrote in the letter. "[My dog] has Addison's Disease, which makes it dangerous for her to travel since she needs regular injections of Cortisol, because she reacts to stress and to excitement without the physiological tools which keep most of us from literally panicking to death."
Apple continued, "If I go away again, I’m afraid she'll die and I won't have the honor of singing her to sleep, of escorting her out. Sometimes it takes me 20 minutes to pick which socks to wear to bed. But this decision is instant. These are the choices we make,...

You should probably help Degrassi win the Best High School Show Ever Competition. You should probably do that.
So you should know that this is officially my one millionth Degrassi recap. I've worked really, really hard on the past 999,999, and I'm not gonna lie, I'm really proud of myself as well as peeing-my-pants happy that you guys have come here for every single one. But who cares about that? It's time for Tristan to die!
So Clare is locked in an insane asylum with her mom—which is Hilarious because Clare's mom hasn't even been around since the thirteenth century—and Mrs. Oh, who got a couple of good lines in this year, until she admits that Asher Shostak is a preying manwhore. "No," she insists, "He's a brilliant journalist! I'm sure it was all for a human interest piece!" Mrs. Oh calls Clare out on the paper trail of...

Beryl Davis has died in Los Angeles, aged 87. The British singer, who was perhaps best known for her war-time ballad 'I'll Be Seeing You', passed away on Friday from complications from Alzheimer's disease. Plymouth-born Davis launched her performing career with her band leader father Harry Davis at the age of 3 and later shot to fame after singing on Bob Hope's radio show. She said that she was inspired by Us singers such as Ella Fitzgerald and toured around Europe before the war playing with well-known musicians Stephane Grappelli, Ted Heath and George Shearing. It seems like it has been forever since we've visited Carter, Allison and the rest of the gang in our favorite geeked-out small town. But things picked up just about where we left off in "Liftoff."
I was looking forward to SyFy's new Monday lineup more than I was looking forward to almost any fall show on the regular networks this year. With the network moving Eureka and Warehouse 13 to the same night, it makes the possibility of a Fargo and Claudia cross-over that much more likely.
I've missed the romance between Jack and Allison over the last 10 months, as I was thrilled to see we got to start a season without them regressing to friendship status again (I am looking at you, season two).
However, I was surprised when Carter got confused when Alison called him by his last name at work and first name at home. Thankfully,...

('Eureka' - 'I'll Be Seeing You') One episode shy of the halfway point in this 20-episode season, 'Eureka' is rolling up the sidewalks and saying goodbye until its holiday special this December. The series put a bow on the time-travel story that had dictated much of the plot since the season premiere shifted five of the principal cast members to 1947.
As with all good time travel stories, the beginning is the end and the end is the beginning. So it was back to the beginning for Carter and Dr. Grant, though the circumstances of their arrival were a little different, and under a situation that would have been heartbreakingly tragic if this wasn't 'Eureka.' Yes, 'Eureka' has done heartbreak before, but there's a light-hearted feel to the show that tells you when everything's going to be all right.

Jazz singer, actor and civil rights activist strongly influenced by Billie Holiday
If Abbey Lincoln was overwhelmed by the responsibility of being proclaimed "the last of the jazz singers", she never let it show. As her great contemporaries and principal influences among the classic female jazz vocalists fell away – with Billie Holiday the first to go, in 1959, and Betty Carter the last, in 1998 – Lincoln steadfastly maintained her dignified, almost solemn, focus; her tart, deftly timed Holiday-like inflections, and her commitment to songs that dug deeper into life's meanings than the usual lost-love exhalations.
And, like Ella Fitzgerald, who all her life took to a stage as if she were surprised to find anyone had come to see her, Lincoln became the opposite of a celebrated jazz diva. In some of her London performances during the 1990s, she would sit quietly beside the piano, tugging at her clothes, like someone who...

Remember Kevin Campbell, the wise-cracking graphic designer from the "off-beat" clique in "Big Brother 11?" He's back in 2010 to blog about "Big Brother 12" for Zap2it!
From Kevin:
Hay Bizznatchesss!!! It's Kevin from "Big Brother 11" and I'm tinkle-pants excited and honored to be working with Zap2it.com as the "expert" blogger on this season of "Big Brother!" I can't wait to dish dirt about this season's houseguests, gossip about rumors, and shake-my-damn-head at failed strategies. As a past player of the game, I'll do a little armchair quarterbacking, and also share a little insight on what may be swirling around the houseguests' minds. But overall, I'll just have fun with you as we gab and giggle about our favorite summer guilty pleasure.
The first episode hasn't even aired yet and there is already drama surrounding the premiere, from the rumors of a 14th houseguest quitting before move-in day, to the...

One of my favorite films from the 2010 Sundance Film Festival will kick off one of my favorite film festivals of the year, as Gen Art has just unveiled the lineup for their 15th annual film festival, which will run in New York City from April 7th-13th. Sundance fav (and audience award winner) HappyThankYouMorePlease will open this year's festival, which is looking to make a big splash in the Big Apple in honor of its 15th anniversary.
Also screening the fest this year -- which boasts a pretty enticing (from a festgoer's perspective) lineup of 7 film premieres and 7 parties in 7 days -- Adrian Grenier's (Entourage) excellent doc Teenage Paparazzo (which was another buzzed-about Sundance title), Sebastian Gutierrez's Elektra Luxx, Tanner Hall, Waiting for Forever, Scott Caan's Mercy and the Slamdance audience award winner, The Wild Hunt. All seven of these films will be enjoying their New York premieres at the festival,...

In the great tradition of multitalented stars, Broadway's newest diva Ashley Brown will make her solo record debut with her jazz vocal album, "Speak Low". Speak Low will be released nationwide on January 12, 2010 via Ghostlight Records and Sony distribution. Speak Low is the title track on a thoughtfully curated collection of American Songbook standards that also includes a sexy and imaginative medley of two great standards, "Smile" and "Make Someone Happy".
