Their act on smashing hit ‘Sinbad The Sailor’ from ‘ Rock On!!’ , with a bit of a folk touch will compel the judges to give a standing ovation as well as salute them for their ‘passion’.
The 2008 musical drama ‘Rock On!!’ was directed by Abhishek Kapoor, produced by Farhan Akhtar with music by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy. The songs’ lyrics were written by Javed Akhtar. The film marked the successful Bollywood debut of Farhan and Prachi Desai. It also starred Arjun Rampal, Luke Kenny, and Purab Kohli in the pivotal roles.

The tragedy of lost media is real ... especially when it's lost from everything but false childhood memories. In a truly bizarre situation, many '90s kids claim to have seen a movie called "Shazaam," wherein Sinbad played a genie summoned by a young brother and sister. But no such movie exists.
False memories can seem like a plot device out of science fiction, but they're actually pretty mundane. The human brain is imperfect, after all. What's more bizarre is when multiple, unrelated people have the same false memories. This phenomenon has been termed "the Mandela Effect," named for former South African President and anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela.
And these memories of "Shazaam" are false. Sinbad himself has refuted them via Twitter. He even suggested people are misremembering a costume he wore to host a TV marathon of Sinbad the Sailor movies as his "Shazaam" outfit. That said, he did get...

Edinburgh (Reuters) - Classic Arabian folk tales brimming with the modern influence of the Arab Spring sweeping North Africa and the Middle East closed out the 2011 Edinburgh International Festival.
Erotic, tragic, hilarious, romantic, the stories from the cities, souks and courtyards contained in "Alf layla wa-layla" - the Thousand-And-One Nights - played to enthusiastic audiences as the three-week festival drew to a close at the weekend.
Director Tim Supple said it was inevitable that the events of the "Arab Spring" sweeping through the Middle East and North Africa "would become and overwhelming part of our project."
He said events reflected in the stories "aren't the first and they won't be the last in the on-going debate and struggle in the Arabic world to define the nature of law, the nature of rule...

After the roaring success of political thriller Rajneeti, Prakash Jha is back again with Aarakshan, a socio-political drama that addresses the controversial issue of caste-based reservations in Indian educational institutions. Disclaimer: I know that the Sinbad movie in question doesn’t involve the comedian Sinbad, but I had to post this picture. Why? Because the man starred in First Kid and Houseguest, two of my favorite flicks growing up. Much respect to the son of a preacher man.
Alright, onto the actual news; Variety has announced that Morningside Entertainment is planning on bringing Sinbad the sailor back to the big screen; they have optioned the rights to comic book series Sinbad: Rogue of Mars from Bluewater Productions and are hoping to hammer it out in time for a 2012 release. The comic, which was meant as a continuation of the classic 50′s and 70′s Sinbad movies (The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger), follows the sailor as he and his trustworthy ship crew get transported to Mars in order...

It was only last month that Us cable channel SyFy announced it was to produce a series of five films for their SyFy Saturday Original Movies strand. Each one is said to be a contemporary twist on a classic children’s favourite fairy tale.
Now news has reached us of the latest movie to go in to production – Red, a new retelling of the classic fairy Little Red Riding Hood which will star fan-favourite geek Felicia Day (The Guild, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog) as a werewolf-hunting descendant of Red Riding Hood. I guess Hollywood doesn't have a problem casting blue-eyed white guys as Arabians. This summer the wrongly-named Jake Gyllenhaal will play Disney's Prince of Persia, playing a character that doesn't really resemble your typical man from Persia. Now the House of Mouse will have company in taking a liberal western casting approach to a movie that's set in the history of the middle east, a retelling of the Arabian Nights.
And who do the producers of Arabian Nights have lined up to play the film's dashing hero? Why, it's none other than Liam Hemsworth, brother of Thor star Chris Hemsworth. Just like his older brother, Liam is blonde and blue-eyed -- but what does that matter? Cast him as a swarthy Arabic adventurer, the lady-folk will never notice or care!
Alright, scorn and apathy aside, Arabian Nights has a competent action director behind it in the shape and form of...

Felicia Day has gone from chasing vampires to hunting werewolves.
The "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" star will play the lead in the Syfy Saturday original movie "Red," an adult reimagining of the Little Red Riding Hood tale, Syfy announced Monday (March 8)
In the telefilm, Red (Day) reveals to her fiancee just what he's getting into if he marries into her family: A family of werewolf hunters. When he gets bitten by a werewolf and therefore becomes their target, Red has to step in and try to save him.
"Stargate Atlantis'" Kavan Smith and "Watchment's" Stephen McHattie also star. "Red" is the latest in a series of Syfy's updated fairy tales. "Beauty and the Beasts: A Dark Tale" starring Estella Warren premiered on Feb. 27. "Aladdin," "Sinbad the Sailor," "Hansel and Gretel" and other tales to be announced will also get the Syfy treatment.

I noticed after our Amanda Seyfried/"The Girl With the Red Riding Hood" story went up, a lot of our Twitter followers started mentioning a Syfy reimagining. They are correct: Syfy is launching a new original movie called "Red," a re-imagining the classic tale of "Little Red Riding Hood."
We've got a ways to go until the movie arrives on TV. Syfy's press release lists a 2011 premiere. But that's fine when you consider that Catherine Hardwicke's planned taking on Riding Hood hasn't even been green-lit yet, meaning we'll likely see it in 2011 at the earliest. Syfy also announced that Felicia Day, star of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog" and "The Guild," will headline the "Red" cast.

A New adaptation of the Eastern folk tales collection Arabian Nights is on its way to the big screen - and, in line with the growing trend, it will be in 3D.
Chuck Russell, who co-wrote the script with Barry P. Ambrose, is to direct the fantasy adventure.
He previously helmed 1987's A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, the 80s remake of The Blob, The Mask, Eraser and Scorpion King.
Variety reports that Arabian Nights has a $70million budget and will be financed by Inferno Entertainment, with production set to begin in April.
The story follows a young commander who, after his king is killed in a palace coup, joins forces with Sinbad, Aladdin and his genie to rescue Persian queen Scheherazade and her kingdom from dark powers.
Russell said: "Through the use of a new generation of visual technologies, we will be able to quite literally take audiences around the...

Chuck Russell (The Mask, The Scorpion King) plans to direct a 3D remake of "Arabian Nights" that is targeting a production start date of April, 2010, reports Variety.
In a new spin on the classic, the story follows a young commander who, after his king is killed in a palace coup, joins forces with Sinbad, Aladdin and his genie to rescue Scheherazade and her kingdom from dark powers.
"Through the use of a new generation of visual technologies, we will be able to quite literally take audiences around the world on a magic carpet ride," Russell said.
The new film is projecting an estimated budget of $70M.
