Moralizing and laudatory picture about the dangerous assignments of an intrepid young police inspector
ma-cortes27 April 2023
The picture shows us the hard missions executed by a young cop , based on real events . Fernando finishes his studies at the Superior Police School of Madrid, with which he becomes an investigative agent. While he is dealing with an uncle who works in a bank, some robbers rob the bank box. Fernando asks to be allowed to handle the case, but his bosses think that he still has no experience and doesn't know they allow it. Faced with his disappointment, he is assigned a mission, apparently of little importance, to infiltrate a garage as an employee to capture some car thieves. To catch the thieves he will infiltrate himself as one of the gang members. At first it works, but it won't be so easy afterwards. There he meets Oscar who assigns him to go to Barcelona and eliminate the girlfriend of a gang member who has betrayed him

Based on a moralizing and exemplifying screenplay by Manuel Bengoa, Juan Llado, José Santugini ; being excessively illustrating and laudatory on Police and inspired by actual facts , taken from ¨Dirección General Seguridad¨ . The film follows in the wake of US Noir film and police film at the time, but with some differences, as can be seen in the ideology of the story, a whole praise of the duty and efficiency of the Spanish police, as well as its infallible system against crime . This same thing can be seen at the beginning of the film, from a voice-over with which the flick starts: ¨Film tribute to the self-denial and heroism of all the Spanish police officers who without great technical and counting on the man factor as the maximum value, it is considered one of the best in the world¨. And including thanksgiving to : ¨Direccion Nacional de Seguridad, Escuela Superior de Policia, Brigada de Investigación Criminal , Academia Especial de la Policia Armada, Ayuntamiento de Madrid; Cruz Roja Española, and Casino Militar¨.

Stars José Suárez who gives an acceptable acting as a young policemen witnesses a bank robbery which will become his first case. Suárez giving a nice acting as the upright cop hero , at the time he was an international actor performing as first figure the Italian films as El Magistrado , El Desafio and especially Calle Mayor (1956) with Betsy Blair, maybe his most well known film, for which he would receive awards as best actor. The success of this film at the Venice festival opened him the doors to the foreign cinema. He would go on playing mostly detective stories, drama, westerns and some comedies in Spanish and European productions such as : Cartago en llamas, Siete Hombres de Oro , Adiós, Texas , La muerte de un presidente , Operacion Silencio and many others . Being well accompanied by a good support cast from the Fifties , such as : Manuel Gas , Alfonso Estela , Barta Barri Maruchi Fresno , Isabel de Castro, Carlos Otero , among others

The motion picture was professionally directed by prolific filmmaker Ignacio F. Iquino. It was awarded : National Syndicate of Spectacle, Spain , 1950 winner Prize of the National Syndicate of Spectacle Best Film Ignacio F. Iquino. Iquino is considered to be one of the worst filmmakers of Spanish film history . He wrote , directed and produced lots of films by means of his production company : ¨I. F. I.¨ (IFISA) that financed lots of Westerns such as : ¨Oeste Nevada Joe¨ , ¨Ninguno De Los Tres Llamaba Trinidad¨, ¨La Diligencia De Condenados¨, ¨Fabulosos De Trinidad¨, ¨20 Pasos a Muerte¨ , ¨Dólar a Fuego¨, ¨Abre Tu Fosa Llega Sabata¨ ¨¨Un colt para 4 cirios¨, and ¨5 Pistolas De Texas¨ . Most of them starred by Richard Harrison , Jorge Martin or George Martin , Luis Davila , Daniel Martin or Robert Woods . Iquino was a Spanish craftsman , writing and directing ; working from the 40s in all kind of genres and B movies until the late 80s . Although he also directed acceptable films as ¨Historia De Una Escalera¨ based on Antonio Buero Vallejo's novel , ¨El Judas¨, ¨Angeles Al Volante¨, ¨Tambor Del Bruch¨ and ¨Brigada Criminal¨ at his best. Rating : 6/10.
