When scenes of dancing at the Palais occur in the film they often start from a tracking shot of the band drummer. This was no coincidence as the drummer was Jack Parnell. Already an accredited musician playing in Ted Heath's orchestra, as shown here, he soon became a top bandleader himself, composer ("Love Story" theme) and impresario in the then new UK network TV music business.
Shooting started with Dermot Walsh in the part of Alec, but he was dropped after the first couple of scenes as he didn't come across as an overbearing character, which was wanted. He did a conversation scene with Donald Houston and Natasha Parry grouped together. He was replaced by Bonar Colleano.
Although Hy Hazell isn't given a credit for her bit part in this film, she is credited as the singer of the song especially written for it.
