Pistol-packin' Audie!

This is action-packed and lots of fun! It's easy to see why Audie Murphy was stereotyped in these roles (although it was a shame he wasn't encouraged to diversify) as he suits them down to the ground. After seeing him briefly in the opening scenes of the movie, one has to wait quite a while before seeing him again, all re-invented, as The Silver Kid. He struts, quips and is self-assured. He helps Steve McNally's lawman smoke out a bunch of murderous claim jumpers. Susan Cabot, as the love interest, does her usual and looks lovely without ever having to dress up. Never was Audie's wry sense of humour more apparent than in this movie and he makes every line count. Waiting for my usual comment on how Audie looked? Watch this and see for yourself that he looks absolutely wonderful!
