The starring of this thriller is Juan Velasco (José Campos) , a young married man who bears a great inferiority complex for having gone from being a simple accountant who married Elena (Luz Márquez) , a wealthy heiress . This makes him to scheme an ominous plan : the death of her wife by hiring a contract killer named Esteban (Luis Induni) , to eliminate Elena in order to take her valuable inheritance and stay with his beautiful lover (Malial Sandoval) . However, things go awry , as the assassin will murder the wrong victim and in such a situation Juan Velasco will try this time by his own means , to get rid of both Esteban and his wife . Meanwhile , an obstinate police inspector (José Maria Caffarel) starts investigating the mysterious events.

A thrilling Noir film with drama , intrigue , suspenseful and a lot of twists and turns . An interesting and surprising picture thanks to attractive screenplay by notorious writers Vicente Coello and José Luis Colina . Efficiently made by Pedro Luis Ramirez who directed other criminal films like ¨Crimen para recien casados¨, shooting this flick that tried unsuccessfully to launch a brilliant debut , as the nicknamed the Spanish James Dean , actor José Campos . The film has clear influences of the typical psychological melodrama from 50s and 60s' Hollywood , though falls partially to get its purports . Two main protagonists , José Campos and Luz Márquez, give decent interpretations . Being well accompanied by a good support cast with some familar faces , such as : José María Caffarel , Luis Induni , Malila Sandoval , Estanis González , Adrián Ortega and look for Amparo Baró as a a vendor .

The motion picture was professionally directed by Pedro L Ramírez . He was a fine Spanish professional who started working for director Rafael Gil. He made sucessful comedies as his film debut : Recluta con niño 1955 , Los Ladrones somos gente honrada 1956 based on the homonyms novel by Enrique Jardiel Poncela , La Cenicienta y Ernesto 1957 , El Tigre de Chamberi 1957 , all of them written and produced by Vicente Escriva . He went on shooting comedies : El Gafe , Fantasmas en casa , Los habitantes de la casa deshabitada and two intriguing comedies : Crimen para recién casados and ? Donde pongo este muerto? . And a Manolo Escobar vehicle set in War of Independence titled : Los Guerrilleros . Subsequently , he made Paella Westerns as Judas toma tus monedas , Clint el solitario, , Ninguno de los tres se llamaba Trinidad and Giallos : El pez de los ojos de oro and El Colegio de la Muerte. Rating ¨Llama un tal Esteban¨(1960) : 6/10 , acceptable and passable . The movie will appeal to Noir Film fans as well as Spanish cinema enthusiasts .
