Amazon Studios had a great night at this week's Golden Globes, picking up Best Television Series and Best Actor – Comedy or Musical, both for Transparent. Now, their next big project has been announced.
They’ve snapped up Woody Allen to make his first ever TV show as an Amazon Studios project. He will write and direct the whole thing, it seems.
The show is currently untitled, and has been signed for a full season exclusively on the equally-snappily-named Amazon Prime Instant Video. Casting and narrative information is as yet under wraps.
Whether this will be a revival of Mr Allen's unaired sitcom pilot The Laughmakers (which he made for ABC in 1962), we don’t know. We’d bet on something new, though.
