Joselito takes a walk on the wild side...
dbdumonteil22 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
...but dad looks out for squalls! You shall be a man my son! "Loca Juventud" begins with a mini-documentary:Roma and above all The Vatican where Joselito was invited by pope JOhn XXIII and where they are working for peace.(Oh really?) Now Joselito is neither a child nor an orphan. He is a rich kid,a teenager who was born in New York (and called Johnny!)and whose daddy is a millionaire (black gold).

The reactionary side which is present (inasmuch) in all Joselito's musical melodramas is so glaring here it is almost unbearable: the youth is dangerous in the sixties so my son do not mix with the pack and their leader!Joselito, who sings less and less in his latter movies, joins the hoodlums for some kind of latino pop song (I would not say rock)and one night they throw a party in a luxury mansion which does not belong to them!.The police are here fortunately and anyway dad is a wealthy man who can provide his offspring with protection.

To redeem himself (cause those bad boys and gals have damaged the beautiful trailer of his girlfriend -a good girl-) ,Joselito /Johnny makes a big decision:like dad who is a self-made man ,he will work to compensate his friends for the damage. But do not worry, dad hires a private eye to watch over his heir.

Ending in Venice where Joselito becomes a gondolier (hence the FRench title:"Le Petit Gondolier" .)"Crazy youth" (sic) was the Spanish title!
