Sex & Nudity

  • Basically nothing; women are seen in bikinis

Violence & Gore

  • Much violence and gore, especially for the film's era.
  • A man stabs a woman in the face with an envelope cutter.
  • A man in a speedboat speeds toward another man on a water-cycle and thrusts a spear into him. He falls into the water, turning much of it red. A lot of his skin is also shown floating.
  • A dead woman is shown tied to a wall with her guts hanging out. Since the main character uses blood for his paintings, he goes to her and squeezes blood from her intestines into a bowl.
  • A man is shot in the face with a rifle.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some smoking.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • For the 1960s, the film has a surprising amount of blood and gore. Maybe on par with horror films of today (apart from the cartoonishy colored blood).
