- The Great Race has been re-released in France in 1996. However, after the race starts, all scenes involving people from the newspaper in New York have been cut.
- "The Great Race" was licensed for showing in the Soviet Union; however, it was cut. Most notably, the whole episode where the race is going through Russia of 1908 is omitted. The Soviet government thought it was a mockery of the Russian people.
