An attractive and charming comedy in which a dowdy Spaniard goes to Paris on holiday to meet girls
ma-cortes8 July 2018
Entertaining and amusing film with great players , sympathetic situations , and smart mood . The picture deals with a mature man called Andres, Fernando Fernan Gomez , who has never left Murcia , and he previously inherited from his deceased aunt a lot of money and three hundred thousand books from her bookshop . His old friend Armando , Alfredo Landa , provides him accomodation at a boarding house inhabited by two Spanish Republicans , the landlord Rafael L Somoza and landlady Aurora Redondo . Then , Andres falls for the young haunting and possessive daughter , Rosanda Monteros , of both .

A brilliant and very polite comedy with subtle laughs and very good direction and in which the splendid actors are extraordinary. It isn't quickly filmed , but slowly shot , and excessively talkie ; nevertheless , containing a witty and sparkling dialogue . This is an enjoyable , slight , elegant and hilarious movie from start to finish . There are some nice jokes in the film and the cast playing eccentric characters make cosy fit . An agreeable , and attractive and charming film, standing out Fernando Fernan Gomez who delivers a magnificent performance as the single man who after inheriting three thousand pesetas in cash from his aunt decides to trip Paris with unexpected consequences, as well as Rosanda Monteros gives a sensual acting as the young girl who falls for him . She is really wonderful and imitating the French accent . Support cast is frankly awesome , such as Rafael L Somoza and Aurora Redondo as the old and odd couple of Republican exiles .Furthermore , brief interpretation from Claudia Gravy as the sculptor neighbour and Alfonso Del Real. Most part takes place indoors , at the French apartment , and shot at Ballesteros studios , with a little exterior vistas from Paris . Although the roles and some incidents seem artificial , and implausible, as when Andres arrived in the apartment and , quickly , he falls for Ninette , kiss each other and go to room . However , the developing of the film is well paced and as a result , it is amusing , fun and funny . Being adapted from a play by the notorious writer Miguel Mihura , a prestigious author whose books and stories have been very rendered such as Melocoton en almibar , Solo para hombres, Maribel y extraña familia , Puente para la paz , Bigote para dos , La hija del penal , Castillo naipes , among others .

The motion picture was well directed by Fernando Fernan Gomez considered to be one of the best actors/directors of the Spanish cinema . He made various adaptations based on plays such as La venganza de Don Mendo written by Pedro Muñoz Seca , Mayores con reparos by Alonso Millan , El mundo sigue by J.A. Zunzunegui. Fernando directed a great number of films , prestigious , commercial and successful flicks , at times , such as Manicomio his first one , El mensaje ,Mayores con reparos , La vida por delante ,Crimen imperfecto , Como casarse en 7 dias , Los palomos , El mundo sigue , Mi hija Hildegart , Viaje a ninguna parte , El mar y tiempo , Fuera de juego , and Pesadilla para un rico.

Ninette has been adapted several times , such as 1984 Tv series by Gustavo Perez Puig with Victoria Vera , Juanjo Menendez , Ismael Merlo . Ninette 2005 by Jose Luis Garci with Elsa Pataky , Carlos Hipolito , Enrique Villen, Fernando Delgado , among others
