Spence helps a nervous Joe dress for the wedding, but Joe forgets a significant item. Will and Tom attempt to stay out of the way of Helen's wedding preparations. They realize that it's going to be quite a day. Iris and Laura arrive for the festivities. The Donelleys contemplate how much they have all changed and remember their past. Joe needs a drink to steady his nerves, as it's too late to back out on the wedding. Find a moment apart from family and friends, Angel shares a quiet, tender moment with Pete. They vow to make the most of whatever time Angel has left to live. Lily comforts Pete. Joe and Betsy recite their special vows to one another, with Betsy choosing a selection from Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and Joe reciting from Walt Whitman. After the ceremony, Joe and Betsy prepare to leave. Betsy says her goodbyes to everyone, with an emotional thank you for terminally ill Angel. Joe and Betsy depart for their honeymoon. Actor Judson Laire steps out of character as Will Donelley to say a special goodbye to the audience on behalf of the entire company of Love is a Many Splendored Thing: "There go Betsy and Joe, off to a new life.
