In 1916, while Europe was in the middle of First World War , Spain was peacefully living and efficiently developing itself thanks to European exports ; there eroticism was called voluptuousness shown in the Musical Revistas and Cabarets . In San Sebastián spends his summer the aristocrat Marqués de Corbina (Manuel Gil) , despite his ancient lineage, he fell completely in love with a famous cabaret singer, Rosario "La Criollita" (Emma Cohen) , which was a real scandal . But then , once married Corbina results to be his father , Senator Duke of Daroca (Fernando Fernán Gómez) , who falls deeply in love for her . At that time, it was doubted that decent women had legs . But this situation was resolved a decade later, when the roaring twenties arrived , and , with them, the sensual Lupe Cardoso (Laura Valenzuela) , Doña Ramona's daughter (Isabel Garcés) , who eventually becomes a successful vedette .
