| 25th anniversary edition. Director's Cut. The remastered sound is an ABOMINATION! There is digital echo on EVERYTHING, particularly annoying in the Santana drum solo. "Wow," you might say, "that's great, nice to have clean sound". The problem is that most of that hiss and hum were artifacts, not of the recording process, but of the 1960s-vintage tube amplifiers; IMHO, removing them distorts the original sound by making it what it was not when it was recorded! |
