- An ex-cop and a Harvard graduate team up to become bounty hunters.
- After a young woman named Sara Faber (Catherine Burns) runs away from her home, detective Noah Hendricks (Michael Witney) goes on a mission to find her in exchange for a sum of money. Rich Harvard graduate Sam Callender (Jan-Michael Vincent) becomes interested in joining Hendricks after hearing about this and bribes the detective into letting him tag along. Faber has run off with one of her many boyfriends, Joe Cade. (Anthony Franciosa) and the team of Hendricks and Callender are followed from a distance by another one of Faber's lovers, Wes Watkins (Kiel Martin).
The two bounty hunters soon come into contact with Amy Lee Cade (Jackie DeShannon) Joe's wife, who tells them that Joe was always chasing old blues musicians and she suspected him of cheating on her when he claimed to be going to Tupelo to see one of his favorite musicians. DeShannon also gives them the vital information that they also used to go see Piano Red perform down in Atlanta.
So the team continues on in their search for Sara Faber and soon find that she and Cade are going to be giving the albino African-American blues musician, Piano Red, a visit at Muhlenbrink's Saloon in Atlanta.
Wes Watkins walks into the saloon as Piano Red performs "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" for a raucous, happy crowd including Joe Cade & Sara Faber. Watkins tells Faber to come with him and she refuses, so he grabs her by the arm and yanks her up off her bar stool. She screams and Cade tries to get a hold of Watkins. A huge barroom brawl breaks out, but Wes gets away with Sara. Now Noah Hendricks and Sam Callender arrive and ask Cade about where Watkins took Sara and get a cheerfully declared "He hauled that blonde-headed girl up toward the depot." from Piano Red.
So the bounty-hunting team head to the depot and find the two on the fire escape. Faber is thrown down by Watkins as he runs up the steps. Callender stays back with her to make sure she's alright while Hendricks chases after Wes Watkins. After a relatively long chase scene that leads them to the roof, Hendricks scares Watkins and he falls down right next to a neon coffe shop sign. As he looks up at Noah the sign rotates and electrocutes him, Causing him to fall to his death.
Sara Faber (Catherine Burns) was ultimately going to get in big trouble if Noah Hendricks (Michael Whitney) turned her in for the bounty. So Sam Callender (Jan-Michael Vincent) convinces him to phone in and tell the cops that she had nothing to do with her dissapearance.
