Fifth film in Spain's Waldemar the werewolf series. This time out Waldemar (Paul Naschy) travels to London in hopes that Dr. Jekyll (Jack Taylor) can save him. Jekyll's jealous assistant injects Waldemar with a serum that turns him into Mr. Hyde. This is a very good blend of the Jekyll and werewolf sagas with very good performances, nice locations and some great atmosphere. Naschy is very good as the werewolf but I might add that he's now my favorite Mr. Hyde. He does a very good job in the role and Taylor is perfect as Jekyll. The look of the werewolf is very nice and there's some nice death scenes as well as a great, downbeat ending. The version I viewed was the Spanish print, which is uncut gore/violence wise but the nudity is missing or "clothed".
