Sony Pictures has just announced Silver & Black, a film to be based on Spider-Man supporting characters Silver Sable and Black Cat, with director Gina Prince-Bythewood attached to helm. She’s also set to rewrite the existing script by Thor: The Dark World scribe Christopher Yost. Coming hot on the heels of Tom Hardy’s casting in the Venom movie, it looks as if the studio truly has some high ambitions for its Spider-Man IP.
The two characters, who were revealed to be getting their own spinoff a while back, are alternately allies and villains for Peter Parker. Silver Sable is the CEO of Silver Sable International and leader of The Wild Pack, mercenaries who’ve set themselves the task of hunting down war criminals. Her violent methods often leave her in conflict with Spidey, though she’s generally considered one of the good guys. Black Cat (aka Felicia Hardy) is another similarly morally muddled character,...

According to reports, Sony is moving forward on a new stand-alone feature film, showcasing a popular Marvel Comics superhero from the 'Spider-Man' universe:
Sony are moving ahead on a feature film starring Marvel Comics character 'Silver Sable', aka 'Silver Sablinova', an anti-hero mercenary, hunter of war criminals, leader of the 'Wild Pack' and 'CEO' of 'Silver Sable International'.
Although sometimes a legitimate mercenary, her methods and motives have sometimes brought her into conflict with other superheroes including 'Spider-Man'.
Created by writer Tom DeFalco and illustrator Ron Frenz, Silver Sable debuted in "The Amazing Spider-Man" #265 (June 1985), followed by the series "Silver Sable & The Wild Pack" (June 1992) written by Gregory Wright, penciled by Steven Butler and a limited 4-issue series "Sable and Fortune".
Silver Sable is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant, skilled in various martial arts, including the ability to take out 'Captain America'.
She wears synthetic stretch fabric lined with Kevlar throughout the torso.
