Trivialidades:
When filming the show, Michael Crawford had to perform scenes over and over in front of the extras and other actors, until they no longer seemed funny to the cast and crew. Even then, some takes were still ruined by someone giggling in the background at Frank's antics. másErrores:
Continuidad: Christmas '75 - Learning to Drive (special episode). When Frank is driving the white mini in the country lane, trying to overtake the lady on the bike, there is nothing behind the mini, but then a split second later he is being followed by a silver Renault. As he tries to overtake the cyclist, Frank is followed by a brown Triumph, then a second later a yellow Ford Anglia is following him. Frank also appears to drive along the same stretch of road several times, as he keeps passing the same parked cars. máspreguntas frecuentes

STAR RATING:*****Unmissable****Very Good***Okay**You Could Go Out For A Meal Instead*Avoid At All Costs
This is an extremely old show that's been enjoying a fair few re-runs on UK TV recently. It's comedic source is that age-old testament that's seen the comedy genre through the ages-that of the pratfall. This particular comic endeaveur doesn't rely on much of a strong, detailed plot,it's just a simple,straight-forward premise.Frank Spencer is simply a hapless chap who, each episode, gets himself into a different sort of comedic scrape. This idea was kind of repeated in later decades with shows such as Mr.Bean, which obviously made it original enough to inspire imitation at the time.Alas,a modern day critic like yours truly can only view it today and lose that feeling of uniqueness. It's certainly got a feel all of it's own,Frank's distinctive scrawling voice, each episode being rounded off with a big comedic stunt, and,of course, the theme music.Michael Crawford did indeed perform all of his own stunts without the aid of a stunt double, and one cannot help but admire the sheer professionalism and obvious care that went into crafting these sequences. And they still manage to evoke a fair few laughs, make no mistake about it.It's just,I dunno, let's be honest here,in this modern age of Ali G and Steve Coogan, would this show's simple mindedness and gentleness shine through to such crude, derivative laughter-evokers as the two mentioned above?Me thinks not. It's an old-fashioned show, which has spurned countless imitations and,to someone not around when it was originally broadcast, loses a fair amount of it's original clout. It is,however, not in any way poor by today's standards, and, although it hasn't stood the test of time as well as such shows as Fawlty Towers and Only Fools and Horses,it will still make you laugh as long as you let it into your heart.***
