Sex & Nudity

  • The handyman and the stepdaughter have a passionate kissing session in some hay, but she stops him from continuing any further.
  • The stepmother slightly implies that the handyman--with whom she's having an affair--also attempt to sleep with her stepdaughter.
  • The film opens with a woman in bed, topless, though we only see her back. After she wakes, she is wearing a somewhat-sheer lace dressing gown, but no nudity is seen. There is no nudity in the entire scene.

Violence & Gore

  • The film opens with a woman being murdered by her then-unknown partner with a pair of scissors. She is first graphically stabbed through the hand (we see the scissors penetrate and blood ooze out) and then stabbed repeatedly in the torso offscreen. The hands of her assailant, the walls and her stomach are covered in blood, though it's seventies fake blood that looks more like red paint.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The handyman is seen smoking cigarettes a few times.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • After getting up from his fall down the stairs, the already-bloodied handyman is stabbed AGAIN by the stepdaughter. A few moments pass as he hides and when the women find him, he is stabbed ANOTHER NINE TIMES before stumbling out into the foyer, covered in blood in slow-motion while the women chase him. He then collapses, spitting blood and finally dies.
