Sex & Nudity

  • A mobster and his wife are shown fully clothed in bed when Seven up cops Buddy and Mingo appear in their bedroom wanting information from the mobster about Ansel's murderer.

Violence & Gore

  • During one scene Buddy and his partner downright grill the husband of a couple, sleeping in bed. The man has a connection to the mob. Not pleasant. Fairly brutal. Buddy destroys their vase.
  • Some, including a man shot in a car's trunk, a high speed chase between mobsters and police shooting it out on a highway and, later, in a junkyard, a suspect is slapped while interrogated.

Profanity

  • 4 uses of 'Jesus' 4 uses of 'Jesus Christ' and 2 uses of "For Christ's sake". 8 uses of 'Shit' 3 uses of 'Son of a bitch' and 2 uses of 'Bastard'. 5 uses of 'Goddamn' and 2 uses of "For God's sake". Occasional uses of 'Hell' 'Damn' and 'Ass'
  • Buddy, or another driver, says "F--k off." It probably can be heard, because the "closed captions" show it being said. Possibly one other F-word.
  • The violence and cursing is intense, but never graphic. Being pre-PG-13, when some movies were a little less rougher and helicopter moms weren't as common, you'll find some objectionable things in a PG movie way more back then. Nothing too graphic.
  • Cinemax content advisory: rated PG for violence (V), adult language (AL), and adult content (AC).

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some smoking, e.g. Buddy and Mingo are shown with cigarettes and cigars as well as smoking by the mobsters.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A very intense movie. Lots of action violence, a chase sequence going from Midtown Manhattan to the Palisades, plotting. Not a family movie.
