Señoritas-mala-compania is an enticing and fun comedy with silly events , ridiculous incidents and disconcerting situations. It deals with a little town , Yepes, Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha, where takes place a big mess when at the brothel with various prostitutes (Concha Velasco, Esperanza Roy , Marisa Medina) run by Doña Sole (Isabel Garcés) that's really criticized by the local women, then happens a winning lottery ticket . Meanwhile , a new lady for the brothel arrives at the brothel, Charo (María Luisa San José), a Valencian girl who is received in the town by Eloy (Manolo Gómez Bur) who runs the brothel as well . Then a lot of problems in progress . Various villagers realise they won the lottery. However , a surprising letdown ensues when they discover the winner ticket belongs to a serial number sold in the brothel and here is going to happen something very messy .

Professionally directed but far from his best moments by the masterful filmmaker of "Surcos" and "Los Peces Rojos", José Antonio Nieves Conde . This movie is fun to see , because of the bewildering and funny situations that protagonists suffer provoke a lot of laughs and amusement . This pre-unveiling choral-sexual farce that seeks to mock morality and hypocrisy trivializing prostitution with a comical, carefree approach in an engaging social portrait , being exposed with a lot of rhythm , surprises but with limited grace by using contrasts , religious stereotypes , social critique , paraphilias , typical traditional versus modern habits and anything else. This is a bemusing picture that packs comical sketches , tongue-in-cheek , grotesque incidents , but above all, it especially contains humor and Irony, at the same time giving a sour criticism about hipocrisy , corruption , social represion and the extreme gossiping . The plot is plain , simple and silly , as a group of rogue inhabitants want to claim the winner prize and save their ruined economy without suffering the angry and wrath their respective wives or parents . Sitting in a rare middle ground between the stylishly enjoyable and the gross bawdness. As the flick has profanities, naughty humor , some sex language , and lousy , lascivious scenes . Being a choral film , in Luis García Berlanga style , here shows up a large number of fine Spanish actors , in which main players are Isabel Garcés as Doña Sole who runs a brothel in a small Castilian town, Maria Luisa San José as a new young prostitute , Emilio Gutiérrez Caba as her sweetheart , and standing out Concha Velasco in a secondary role as a hysterical sex worker , while Ismael Merlo plays a good priest who attempts to restore their troublesome lives . They well accompanied by a nice plethora of familar players , such as Mari Carmen Prendes , Jose Sazatornil , Tota Alba, José Orjas , José María Caffarel , Milagros Leal , Rafael Hernández, Esperanza Roy , Marisa Medina , Lorenzo Robledo , José Yepes, and José Luis López Vázquez . And brief appearances from Goyo Lebrero , Juanito Navarro and Luis Varela . This ¨Las señoritas de mala compañía(1973) was remade in 2016 as ¨A stroke of luck¨or ¨Villaviciosa de al lado¨ (2016) by Nacho G. Velilla with Carmen Machi, Leo Harlem, Carlos Santos .

The motion picture was professional but regularly directed by José Antonio Nieves Conde , a director of great quality .He was a fine craftsman , expert on drama and comedy , a notorious producer , filmmaker and writer, known for his biggest hit : ¨Surcos¨that got several nominations and awards , such as : Cannes Film Festival 1952 Nominee Grand Prize of the Festival José Antonio Nieves Conde ; Cinema Writers Circle Awards, Spain 1952 Winner CEC Award , Best Film , Best Supporting Actor Félix Dafauce , Best Supporting Actress Marisa de Leza , Best Director José Antonio Nieves Conde ; National Syndicate of Spectacle, Spain 1951 Winner Prize of the National Syndicate of Spectacle Best Film Rank : 3th place . José Antonio Nieves Conde made some thought-provoking and brooding dramas ( El Inquilino, Surcos) , religious cinema (Balarrasa, Cotolay) , passionate story (Casa Manchada , Mas Alla del deseo , Marta , Historia una Traicion) , Comedy (Don Lucio and Hermano Pio) and even Terror (Sounds of horror) . Rating : 6/10. The flick will appeal to Spanish comedy fans.
