After jumping at the end, Eleanor roars off from the accident. The pursuing police cars can be seen already crashed behind it in one shot, but they don't crash until a few moments later.

During the first police pursuit and the other police chases later in the film, some police vehicles are seen with a steady red light and some without one. The story takes place in Southern California and according to the California vehicle code, all police and emergency vehicles are required to have at least one steady red light on facing forward when the emergency lights are on.
The two Challangers that were used in the movie were both 1970 models, with correct VINS JH23L0E142781 and JS23U0E114291. Both cars had 1972 and 1973 front clips, respectively.
During the chain-reaction collision on the bridge, a red 1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass slams into the rear of what appears to be a green 1969 or 1970 Ford LTD. A few seconds later as a police car snakes through the carnage, we see the wrecked Cutlass but the LTD is nowhere to be seen. The LTD may have left the scene of the accident.
When the chase forces Billy's Cadillac to crash, the Long Beach PD Dodge Coronet leading the pursuit spins around onto a traffic island and stops. In the very next scene when the pursuit passes the interview with Carson mayor Sak Yamamoto during the opening ceremony, the Coronet is back in being the lead pursuit car again. However, it is entirely likely that as it was undamaged in the incident, the Coronet simply reversed off the island and re-joined the pursuit, catching up before it reached the ceremony site.
Cables that pull the garbage truck over when it is hit by police cars are clearly visible in one shot.
When Jonathan Fricke is interviewing witnesses to the early part of the chase in downtown Long Beach, several onlookers can be seen to stare into the camera at various times. Furthermore, when he is talking to the long-haired youth who says, "He killed about 500 people, it was unreal, man!" an elderly couple approach in the background, see the filming taking place, pause, and the elderly male points to a crew member off-screen for permission to walk through the shot, which is obviously given as he then nods and proceeds past Fricke and the youth with his wife.
In the scene outside the airport terminal, following the wedding, pedestrians are obviously standing purposely in front of parking meters to disguise the fact that filming took place on a suburban street, and not at the airport itself.
Just before Eleanor hits the light pole on the freeway, a closeup of the instruments shows that the fuel guage is on empty.
When the police officers are talking at the crash scene following the arrest of Harold Smith, the patrolman in the passenger seat of the car looks at the camera for several seconds before they drive off to return to Smith's house.
