The trick of Miley Cyrus is that we’re not talking about anybody but Miley Cyrus right now. Her Vma performance with Robin Thicke, who dressed as Beetlejuice‘s Floridian pimp nephew, was maybe offensive, ill-conceived, not conceived, and a mess, but that’s more than I remember about Katy Perry‘s anodyne performance of “Roar” or Bruno Mars‘ serviceable take on “Gorilla.” Though Lady Gaga delivered a pitch-perfect, costume-morphing rendition of “Applause,” she mainly served up an affirmation of her own shtick. Since that time, she’s vaulted into a PR blitz which has included an SNL appearance, a radio-ready ballad called “Wrecking Ball,” Good Morning America, a ridiculous Terry Richardson photo spread, and an unexpected epistolary war with Sinead O’Connor. Just a month after...

The controversial life story of Amy Winehouse is to be told in a new documentary film headed by Senna director Asif Kapadia. Focus Features International will be selling the worldwide rights to the doc at next month’s Cannes Film Festival.
“Amy was a once-in-a-generation talent who captured everyone’s attention,” Kapadia and producer James Gay-Rees said in a statement. “She wrote and sung from the heart and everyone fell under her spell. But tragically Amy seemed to fall apart under the relentless media attention, her troubled relationships, her global success and precarious lifestyle.”
This should be an interesting project and one that is in the safe hands of the BAFTA-winning Kapadia. Amy Winehouse was arguably the most important British singer-songwriter of the early 21st century, whose soulful one of a kind voice and incredible eye for scathing lyrics made her a global Superstar. She paved the way for the likes of Adele,...

Chicago – Any list of the most influential films of the ’70s that doesn’t include Terrence Malick’s brilliant “Badlands” is incomplete. It’s one of those cinematic works that’s so important to its era and how it influenced filmmakers that saw it that it’s hard to put into reviews in a brief review such as this one. It is iconic in the way Malick took the familiar (it’s based on a true story that was well-known at the time) and made it artistic. It’s also a great selection for The Criterion Collection, joining Malick’s “Days of Heaven” and “The Thin Red Line” in the most important series of Blu-rays ever released.
Rating: 5.0/5.0
On the surface, “Badlands” could have been another take on “Bonnie and Clyde,” star-crossed young lovers united and divided by violence. And it would have been a beautifully made film with great...

Is Arnold Schwarzenegger's relationship with Maria Shriver really over for good? In a new interview, it's revealed that Arnold loves Maria still and is hoping that California's former first couple can get back together.
"We're not fighting any war. I still hope for reconciliation. I love Maria still," Schwarzenegger tells Bild, Germany's top newspaper.
The answer was in response to a question where the paper asked if the former Governator was spending Christmas with his family -- including his ex-wife. It could be that this is just a holiday tradition, as Shriver reportedly also spent Christmas with Schwarzenegger and their four children in 2011.
It also could be that Shriver and Schwarzenegger are on the road to healing. He spilled the beans about his secret love child with housekeeper Mildred Baena in his book "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story", and considering the fact that was the secret...

DreamWorks has hired commercial director Ringan Ledwidge to direct their micro-budget sci-fi time travel thriller Glimmer. The story follows "a group of teens who discover a portal to the past. When one of them changes history, the effects start to snowball with tragic consequences."
As you can see there's a little mix of Chronicle and Back to the Future in there. Or even The Simpsons, remember when Homer had the time-travel toaster? I guess people will never learn when they go back in time not to touch or interact with anything. Hopefully it turns out to be a cool movie! Here's some more detailed info from scriptshadow,

Quick, someone ring the alarm!
Arnold Schwarzenegger looked to be asleep at the wheel while driving around in Hollywood, Calif., yesterday (Oct. 19). X17online.com has photos of the actor-turned-politician, 65, letting out a great, big yawn as he tried to stay awake for the remainder of his ride home.
Sleepy is an understatement -- the Governator needs a bed ... pronto!
Perhaps he's tired of all the hype surrounding his memoir, "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story," which surprisingly seems to be putting its readers to sleep as well. The book only sold 21,000 copies in its first week.

We can't blame Mildred Baena for being curious about what Arnold Schwarzenegger has to say. And Thursday at an outdoor café in Bakersfield, Calif., the housekeeper-turned-mistress delved into the ex-Governator's autobiography, Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story. Although their infamous affair resulted in an illegitimate love child born during his marriage to Maria Shriver, it was largely omitted from the 650-page memoir. "Mildred had been working in our household for five years and all of the sudden we were alone in the guest house," he writes concisely in the book. "When Mildred gave birth the following August, she named the baby Joseph." Use your...

It seems like a reconciliation may be in the works for Maria Shriver and her estranged husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Shriver was seen leaving a Brentwood, Calif., restaurant this weekend wearing an unmistakable accessory, her flashy wedding ring. She was dining with her daughter Katherine, reports the Daily Mail.
Shriver filed for divorce from Schwarzenegger in July 2011 after it was revealed that he fathered a child with the family's housekeeper Mildred Baena.
Speaking to Piers Morgan, Schwarzenegger called Maria his true love and took full responsibility for their marriage ending.
"It's my fault. There's no one else to blame," said Schwarzenegger. "I screwed up bad and I take the full blame for it."
The former California governor is currently promoting his new book "Total Recall: My Unbelivably True Life Story," which speaks of his infidelity in his marriage to Shriver and the regret he feels for those decisions.

Total Recall – My Unbelievably True Life Story merely confirms our suspicions: that nothing brings Arnie more pleasure than himself
Oho! What gift is this from the celebrity gods, floating down on to the Lost in Showbiz desk? Why, it's Arnold Schwarzenegger's 650-page autobiography, Total Recall – My Unbelievably True Life Story. While LiS is dismayed to lose its long-running bet that the title would be I Told You I'd Be Back – And I Am!, the subtitle does provide consolations with its pleasing similarity to Gary Shteyngart's tale of a plucky immigrant in America, Super Sad True Love Story, but Arnified. Thank you, celebrity gods! Tools down, everyone – it's a Lost in Showbiz book group special.
The first thing to say is that this is not a celebrity autobiography. Trust me, I have a degree in celebrity autobiographies from TMZ.com University, and this is not a contribution to that noble genre.

Maria Shriver took time out for a little pampering on Tuesday. And who can blame her, seeing how Arnold Schwarzenegger has been so vocal lately about the collapse of their marriage while out promoting his new autobiography,Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story? Not surprising, Shriver kept to herself as she made her way out of a Beverly Hills hair salon yesterday. Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger continues to make appearances in support of his book. Last Sunday, he was seen on 60 Minutes, where he expressed hope that he might one day reconcile with Shriver. He also visited both CBS This Morning and The Daily Show With Jon Stewart on Monday and appeared on Piers Morgan Tonight on Tuesday.

Arnold Schwarzenegger quotes: Bodybuilding and Image Building, Total Recall vs. Selective Recall Schwarzenegger may be an inept actor and may have been an even more inept (Republican) governor of the state of California, but one must admit that The Ahnold is the consummate salesman. His chief product: Himself -- I mean, not his ruthlessly ambitious self, but rather his unassuming, self-parodying public image, which, for the braindead everywhere, is the same thing as the actual man. And that iconic public image can be found in the actor-politician-bodybuilder-unethical husband's soon-to-be-bestselling book of memoirs, Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story. (Above photo: The Ahnold, showing off his myriad bulging muscles, in his old bodybuilding days.) Now, "Selective Recall" might have been a more appropriate title for the book of memoirs -- and for his book-selling tour. Below are a couple of reasons why that should have been so gay marriage...

Did the world really need to know that you finally confessed the affair to a devastated Maria Shriver during a couples counseling session? Based on early reviews, it seems a more apt title for Arnold Schwarzenegger's Total Recall would be Selective Memory. Of course, it would no longer be a play on the title of one of his most famous films, but it'd be more accurate, anyway. While the body builder-turned-movie star-turned-governor-turned-tabloid magnet has spent the last month or so promoting his "Unbelievably True Life Story," with admissions about the affair with his maid that led to an illegitimate love child -- and several other affairs -- making headlines, the consensus thus far seems to be that he

Arnold Schwarzenegger was happy to sit down last night with "60 Minutes" and talk about his tell-all memoir, "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story," discussing everything from his arrival in America to his marriage with American royalty, Maria Shriver, and the child with his housekeeper -- Arnold held nothing back.
However, Shriver is a very different story. She has not spoken out publicly about the end of her marriage, despite offers to do so from everyone from Oprah to her old bosses at NBC.
“We’ll have no comment,” Matthrew Digirolamo, communications director for Maria Shriver told me, making it clear that Shriver would be saying nothing today or in the future about Arnold's new memoir.
“This must be a very painful time for her,” an old NBC colleague of Shriver's tells me. “Maria is a very private person who doesn’t enjoy seeing her personal life on television or in magazines.

Sacramento, Calif. -- Arnold Schwarzenegger says his lifelong penchant for secrecy and ability to put his emotions "on deep freeze" led him to keep many secrets from his wife Maria Shriver, eventually causing the dissolution of their marriage when he was forced to admit he fathered a child with the family's housekeeper years earlier.
Throughout their strained 25-year marriage, Schwarzenegger says he did not want to tell Shriver about crucial life decisions such as major heart surgery and running for California governor because he feared she would overreact and tell her well-connected family and friends.
In his new autobiography, "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story," and in an interview airing Sunday on "60 Minutes," the former California governor acknowledges that his inability to be honest with people has hurt those closest to him.

It wasn't until the boy "started looking like me, that's when I kind of got it. I put things together," the action star and former California governor, 65, told 60 Minutes on Sunday.
