• Continuity: At the beginning of the film, before Harry goes into the restaurant, he drives by a lone red car parked at the corner. In the next shot, there is a white car, behind the red car, that wasn't in the first shot.
  
  
• Continuity: In the long shots of the fire boat, Harry is turning the water cannon to the left, toward the guard tower. In the close ups he is turning it to the right, away from the tower.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: When Harry confronts the priest in his church (shortly before Harry's partner shoots the alleged "nun"), Harry pushes the priest forcefully backwards into the confessional. When the priest hits the 'tiled' rear wall, you can see it shake, revealing it to be a cardboard prop.
  
  

• Continuity: When Harry and his old partner are driving to the liquor store holdup, in the shot from the rear of the car through the windshield, Harry's partner is hanging on to the light with his left hand. In the very next shot, he is speaking on the radio with the same hand.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: When Callahan aims the water cannon at the baddie in the tower, the water cannon just about gets to the left hand side of the tower and the baddie dives off the right hand side, screaming.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: When Callahan fires the bazooka at the watch tower that Bobby Maxwell has just climbed up to, the cabin on top of the tower vanishes shortly before the missile hits it. We just see the bare platform for a few frames, then there's an explosion and then we see the platform in flames.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: When the soldier was demonstrating the LAWS to Harry and his partner, he fires the rocket that hits the halftrack in front of the passenger door. But the back of the halftrack blows up instead.
  
  
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: Burning a hole in an inflatable sex doll will not result in a "pop" unless the doll is under pressure or filled with hydrogen, neither of which is the case here.
  
  
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The rocket launcher in the film is called the LAWS rocket. It is actually referred to as simply a LAW, which is an acronym for Light Anti-tank Weapon. It's military designation is M-72.
  
  
• Continuity: When Harry drives his police car into the double doors of the liquor store at the start of the film we hear the bad guy "cock" his shotgun, and spew some profanity. In the previous shot when he has the gun on Harry his weapon is already cocked.
  
  
• Factual errors: In the raid on Mustafa's hangout we see both swat and the regular officers with assault rifles. Regular police officers did not carry high powered rifles until after the North Hollywood shootout at the botched bank robbery in 1997. During the course of the shootout officers had to borrow weapons from local gun shops to match the robbers firepower.
  
  

• Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: After Harry Callahan blows up Bobby Maxwell on the tower, and the Mayor gets to the bottom landing, you can see when the Mayor gets up, he has some sort of knee pads under his suit pants.
