Sex & Nudity

  • At the beginning of the film, there is a large woman doing a slightly risque dance on stage and she is subjected to suggestive remarks from the audience.
  • A man walks behind a row of women working and touches or squeezes their buttocks.
  • A scene in a brothel features some scantly clad(but not nude) prostitutes.
  • Woman sits playing and singing at a piano. She wears a loose-fitting, low-cut dress which is very revealing. The dress's back begins just below her hips. That's the dress straps have slipped so that the dress reveals quite a bit of a breast and just barely covers her nipples.
  • Some sexual conversation. Subjects include erections, prostitution, and a bestiality reference. The word "fuck" is used sexually twice, the word "screw" is used sexually once, and Pasqualino tells a woman that her daughter has "a great ass."
  • Inmate at mental asylum walks into a woman's room and shuts the door. She's bound hand and foot to the bed. He flirts with her, strokes her leg and thigh. He lifts her dress to look at her privates. Her dress is wide open. He fondles her breast and slips over top of her. He lifts up her dress to have a look at her. As he kisses her, she bites him and he tapes her mouth shut. Rape is assumed. Nudity includes her breast.
  • Frontal male nudity is seen in mental asylum inmates.
  • Man's naked buttocks show as he's being whipped as punishment. Naked male POWs are lined up in a hall. Also naked piled corpses, men and women, are seen. Male full frontal and rear nudity, female breasts.
  • The POW camp's fat female commandant orders Pasqualino to strip off his pants(the viewer doesn't see the nudity) and she inspects him. She then takes off her underwear and shows him her privates(once again the viewer doesn't see the nudity).
  • Pasqualino approaches the sitting commandant and kisses her clothed torso including her breasts and it is then implied that he performs oral sex on her. The scene employs green-tinted lighting and sped-up photography giving it a surrealistic touch.
  • We see Pasqualino and the commandant in bed having sex. The scene is brief and quite dark with no nudity but we hear some heavy breathing and see a little movement.
  • In a flashback, we see a woman doing a seductive dance and we see close-ups of her clothed breasts, crotch, and buttocks that are meant to be suggestive.
  • In a flashback, we see a man and a woman in bed having sex. The scene is brief and shown rapidly but we do see the woman's bare breast.
  • In a flashback, we see a man and woman in a staircase having sex. Very brief with no nudity but the image is a little explicit.
  • We see some female nudity(crotch and breasts) in a painting.

Violence & Gore

  • The film begins with black and white archival WWII footage depicting explosions, gunfire, destruction, plane crashes, bombings, and a few dead bodies. While the footage is at times intense, it is not bloody.
  • We see a group of people in the woods from a distance executed by machine gun fire. We also see a few of the bodies from a distance in the aftermath. The scene contains minimal if any blood.
  • Pasqualino invades the brothel where his sister works and struggles with several prostitutes who attempt to restrain him. He succeeds in breaking free to slap his sister's face once, choke her around the neck, and kick her in the rear twice. In a few other scenes in the film, Pasqualino handles his sisters roughly but not as much as in this scene.
  • A pimp punches Pasqualino out.
  • Pasqualino shoots a pimp dead with a pistol. The scene is played again in flashback. No blood.
  • During a speech by a gangster about body disposal we see the following: A corpse sunk in a river with cement shoes on, a murdered man stuffed into a coffin with another corpse (small spot of blood on the man's chest) and a tomb with many skulls in it in which some gangsters bring in a mostly skeletal corpse to be hidden. The scene appears meant to be taken as semi-comical in nature.
  • When Pasqualino deals with the corpse of the pimp, we see a little blood on the bedsheets and the corpse repeatedly passes gas. We then see Pasqualino with 3 suitcases that contain the pimp's cut-up corpse (no blood). This scene is played as comical, but it is still a little gross.
  • Pasqualino is grabbed by the police for murder and is hauled off to prison when he pretends to be insane.
  • Pasqualino grabs and shakes and threatens his lawyer for insulting him.
  • In an insane asylum, Pasqualino rapes a woman who has been tied to a bed. She bites him when he kisses her and then he slaps her. The scene is quite disturbing.
  • Doctors in the asylum hose Pasqualino down and hit him a few times before forcing him into a straight-jacket and subjecting him to electroshock treatments.
  • In a Nazi POW camp, we a pile of naked corpses and several corpses hung by the neck with their pants down (no nudity).
  • Several men are machine gunned to death but there is no visible blood.
  • Several prisoners are hit with whips and clubs while being led around.
  • Pasqualino is struck and knocked down by the commandant's whip and she hits him with a smaller whip later when they are being sexual.
  • A man's pants are pulled down and he is whipped. We briefly see the bloody whip marks.

Profanity

  • 4 uses of "fuck" (2 of which are sexual) and several uses of the following words: "shit", "ass"b(including 2 uses of "asshole"), "bastards", "whore", "son of a bitch", "bitch", "damn", "hell", and several religious exclamations. 1 use each of "crap", "piss", and "goddamn". All of this is in the subtitled version. The dubbed version will most likely vary.
  • The commandant insults the Italian Pasqualino by calling him such things as "shit macaroni", "disgusting macaroni", and "shit Neopolitan." She also verbally abuses him by telling him in detail just how much he disgusts her.
  • The word "screw" is used in place of "fuck" several times in the film ("screw off", "screw you", etc.) including one sexual use.
  • Characters regularly insult each other in the film calling each other names such as "blind idiot", "worm", "tart", "filth", "rat", and "pig"(used for both men and women).

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Scenes of alcohol consumption.
  • Lots of smoking (both cigarettes and cigars).
  • Drugs: None

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Seven Beauties contains many harrowing sequences that take place in an insane asylum(which includes a rape and electroshock treatment) and in a Nazi POW camp where cruelties and killings abound in deplorable conditions. This is a great film but also quite disturbing and not for everyone.
