• Continuity: The number "2" disappears off Rocky's apartment door after he answers the door to let Micky in.
  
  
• Continuity: While fighting Apollo Creed, in one shot the top of Rocky's shorts are flipped inside-out, and in another they are fixed.
  
  
• Continuity: The last four punches of the 14th round that Rocky laid on Apollo are the same punches just shot at two different angles.
  
  

• Revealing mistakes: When Rocky tells his corner man cut him to relieve the swelling over his eye, you can see him holding a knife to it, while squirting fake blood on it from a small bottle in his hand.
  
  
• Continuity: When Rocky enters the bathroom while Mickey is visiting him, there are three darts on the door. After Rocky opens the door the first time, there are still three darts, but they are in a completely different pattern, and in the final shot of the door, there are only two darts.
  
  
• Continuity: During the big fight, the arena is clearly empty at times.
  
  
• Crew or equipment visible: The steadicam operator and his assistant can be seen several times at ringside on wide shots during the fight.
  
  
• Continuity: When Rocky sees Marie and asks her if her brother knew she was hanging out with those "coconuts", he's smoking a cigarette. When he grabs her, the cigarette disappears.
  
  
• Crew or equipment visible: In the Morning Run scene, as Rocky runs down the street, the camera zooms out and you can clearly see the on the top of the screen, right above the farthest building, the lighting equipment.
  
  
• Continuity: At the end of the fight when Apollo and Rocky are hugging, Apollo's manager comes up to him in the close-up shot. Then they switch to an aerial shot and you can see Apollo's manager just jumping over the ropes into the ring.
  
  
• Crew or equipment visible: When Rocky is talking to Adrian on Thanksgiving through the door, the camera shot goes to Paulie who is about ten feet away. You can see one of the movie cameras in the mirror.
  
  
• Miscellaneous: As Adrian comes out to watch Rocky's fight with Apollo, a Los Angeles police officer is seen standing behind her in the corridor; the fight in taking place at the Spectrum in Philadelphia.
  
  
• Crew or equipment visible: When Rocky is jogging outside, during the song "Gonna Fly Now", in a few shots you can see the track visible where the camera-car is driving.
  
  
• Continuity: Size of the crowd in the Rocky/Apollo fight.
  
  
• Miscellaneous: Real life boxing referee Lou Fillipo, who plays the referee in the Championship fight, is listed in the closing credits as "Championship Fight Announcer". Thayer David, who plays the promoter Jergens, acts as announcer for the fight.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: After the fight announcer has finished announcing the beginning of the fight, the microphone raises back up to the ceiling, as it does it makes connection with the camera and shakes it.
