Sex & Nudity

  • A man is briefly shown taking off his pants around a woman who suggests he does so, as they both have changed into bathrobes at least in different rooms of the same apartment after having come in soaked out of pouring rain.
  • There is some cross-dressing that takes place. From a run-in with a strange female outlaw who wants to trade his clothes and portray him in something which he holds him up for, Clouseau is forced to cross-dress himself, and remains so for the next number of scenes. Clouseau is also seen partly undressed in the process.
  • Douvier is an adulterer.
  • Clouseau discovers his apartment has been turned into a brothel where he meets Tanya, a dominatrix.
  • One of the baddies is shown reading a Playboy.

Violence & Gore

  • None of the violence is graphic.
  • A hunter shoots a bird.
  • The animated opening credits feature some mild violence.
  • One of Douvier's men deliver a bomb to Clouseau at a disguise-making shop which causes an explosion wounding at least three people.
  • A fight between Mr. Chong and several assassins.
  • Clouseau's battle-ax neighbor drops a pot on his head - and later on Mr. Chong's head.
  • A fight between Clouseau and Cato.
  • A brief fight between Clouseau and a mental patient who also believes he is Clouseau.
  • Clouseau tries to strangle Cato.
  • A man hits Simone's dance partner and then attempts to take her hostage.
  • Clouseau trips Cato.
  • Simone hits Douvier and later a police officer. She later assaults Douvier with firecrackers.
  • Dreyfus shoots at Clouseau.
  • A gun battle in a fireworks warehouse, which causes a large explosion.

Profanity

  • Clouseau briefly says "merde" in one scene, a French term for "shit".
  • Religious Profanity: "god"(3instance) "hell"(5) "Jesus Christ"(1)
  • Insults and Derogatory Terms: "dumb Frenchman"(1) "greedy little yellow pimp"(1) "little yellow swine"(1) "Oriental fool"(1)
  • Clouseau makes a mildly racist joke at Cato's expense.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • At least 5 instances of tobacco smoking.
  • Some social drinking including 1 instance of drunkenness.
  • Douvier is a heroin smuggler, but drugs are not used (or even shown).

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some might perceive scenes this way concerning ones of Mr. Chong and other assassins that follow and chase after protagonists. Even if any of what ends up causing them to fail their attempts end humorously.
  • When Douvier is being forced to let his secretary go that he has been having an affair with, it ends up in them getting in a somewhat personal brawl.
  • The film features some jokes that could be considered racially insensitive to Asian viewers, such as Cato frequently being revered to as "yellow" and Cleusseu's Chinese disguise, featuring yellowface.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Mistaking him for Cato, Clouseau hits Mr. Chong from behind with a stick causing him to fall to his death.
  • Claude robs Clouseau at gunpoint. Douvier's men later shoot at the car causing it to crash killing her.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Though it is completely humor based, Clouseau scares Dreyfus witless by appearing and revealing himself to the point of causing Dreyfus to faint several different times. Mostly on a count of Dreyfus and the rest of France thinking he's dead from a car explosion.
