- In the year 3008, Captain Cornelius Butt (Avery Schreiber) announces in the ship's log that after a seven-year mission, his ship, Infinity, a police cruiser with its crew and a female robot pilot named Galaxina (Dorothy Stratton), will return to Earth. Infinity's Pvt. Robert "Buzz" McHenry (James David Hinton) spots a potentially hostile spaceship. When its captain refuses to state the nature of his mission, Capt. Butt orders an attack on the mystery ship. A firefight breaks out and the Infinity's force field is weakened, but Galaxina stabilizes the ship.
At dinner, Galaxina serves a vintage 2001 Venusian Thunder Ripple wine to Capt. Butt. Sgt. Thor (Stephen Macht) slaps him on the back to help clear his throat when the captain chokes on his glass of wine. Soon, Thor gives Galaxina a playful slap on the backside, but receives an electrical shock.
Next, the captain demands to see the green, scaly egg Buzz has confiscated from one of their prisoners. Since Earthlings no longer eat eggs, the captain cracks Buzz's egg into his wine glass and drinks the purple contents with relish. He begins convulsing and expels a lizard-like alien monster that disappears on the ship.
A little later, Thor confesses to Galaxina that he is in love with her, but when he kisses her, he receives another shock. Galaxina, who cannot speak, seems to appreciate the attention.
On the bridge, Commander Garetty (Fred D. Scott) appears on the holocam, a telecommunications screen, and informs Captain Butt that the crew must journey to the planet Altar I instead of going home. When Butt and his crew complain that the trip will take 27 years traveling at light speed, the commander says their mission is to bring back the "Blue Star," a rock that holds the key to the universe. The crew is thrilled and the commander grants them furlough at a recreation station before their journey.
On Infinity, Galaxina sheds a tear when she sees how much fun the crew is having.
Butt records an entry in the ship's log, reporting that the crew will remain in Cryosleep Chambers, and Galaxina will fly the cruiser until they reach Altar I. As the captain goes to sleep, he wonders what has happened to the alien monster he spewed. The monster tampers with the Cryosleep Chamber, aging him faster than his crew.
Galaxina learns to make herself more attractive for Thor and wakes the crew from their long sleep after 27 years. When Galaxina, dressed in a white negligee, visits Thor, he receives no shock because she disconnects the mechanism and has warmed her internal temperature. She has also taught herself how to speak during the long journey and tells Thor that she loves him.
Soon, the mystery ship returns and ambushes the Infinity, sending the cruiser into a tailspin. It lands on Alta I and Galaxina searches for her liaison, Frank Future. She is warned by crew mates the planet is a dangerous place that was settled 500 years earlier as a penal colony for Earth.
Galaxina wanders into a bar filled with aliens and sees a banquet table with severed human legs, arms, hands and a head, and asks to speak to Frank Future. A bartender named Mr. Spot (David A. Cox) tells her Frank has been killed and eaten. She asks to see his room, where she finds Ordric from Mordric, the mystery ship captain. They both want the Blue Star perched on the bed, but Galaxina examines it. She waves it in Ordric's face and he collapses. He recovers and fights with Galaxina for the Blue Star in the street. She kills Ordric, but when she does not return to the ship, Thor and Buzz search for her.
A biker gang on Alta I captures Galaxina, and ties her to a water tank, while they dance. Thor and Buzz rescue Galaxina and escape in a stolen motorcycle and sidecar, while the bikers chase them on horseback. When the motorcycle runs out of gas, they run to their ship.
On board, Ordric demands that Thor, Buzz and Galaxina hand over the Blue Star. When Galaxina asks Ordric why he is not dead, he tells her he has "a very good mechanic." Ordric sets a course for his planet and locks the Infinity crew in the ship's jail. While Ordric watches intergalactic movies, a now bigger and older alien monster attacks and kills him. The monster goes to the ship's lock up, handing over the keys. Then, the monster kisses Butt and calls him "mama." The crew cannot deliver the Blue Star because a rock eater, one of the ship's prisoners, has eaten it.
On the ship's log, an old and senile Capt. Butt rants about returning to Alta I to find another Blue Star and how Galaxina is such a pretty robot.
